The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

I did some channel surfing a few minutes ago. There was some amazing video of the totality in Mexico and CNN has some shots of it around San Antonio TX a few moments of darkness, but unfortunately it was clouded in so the sun wasn't visible. Too bad for them.

Haven't seen anything yet about upper states. News said it was going to be a big crowd at Niagara Falls. Hope to see some of those shots later.

Amazing event. Wonder what the space station saw from their angle?

We had a light cloud cover and couldn't get any good shots of it with our phones. Maybe Pops or Mum got better stuff.

CNN's coverage of Indianapolis was a great experience viewing the eclipse. It looked spectacular on TV. What followed was an interview with an astrophysicist on the event. She was certainly excited about the prospects and did a good job of telling the audience about the types of studies that are underway.

It was entertaining to hear about how many people from around the country and the world poured into the eclipse pathway to experience those few moments of darkness. Tons of 'tourist' funds for those locals and headaches too I suppose, but still worth it for all the memories it formed for youngsters to recount years from now.

We had a complete annular eclipse here in October, so it's pretty hard for me to get excited about this one.

So has the apocalypse started now?

I will have to say we did not experience the hoards of interlopers the city fathers predicted. In fact, my friend visiting from California and I hit the Mexican restaurant minutes after totality to enjoy margaritas and their characteristic Mexican-ish cuisine, and it was not crowded at all.

Great day, great show. We had fun.

My Neighborhood BBQ Eclipse Party went great.
I stopped counting at 50 people.
Only 44 confirmed, so a few extras were brought along.
I figured that so we had plenty of food, except that I did run out of brownies and cupcakes.

The eclipse was incredibly beautiful.
We were in "totality" for over 3 minutes.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Back from the Mayo Clinic intact. They only came up with a few new means of torture to brighten my day. The Doc says I may be able to go through a Balloon Angioplasty without losing a kidney. The Balloon Angioplasty is to get rid of some of these blood clots in my lungs and make them more functional

Coffee is on!

We have a blustery morning. There's even a chance of rain, but you couldn't know that by looking at the blue sky out there.

Lung Function - is that when you sit in a plastic booth and try to inflate a computer? I hate those. Spirometry is another one where they see how long you can exhale, I hate that one

Good luck! and tea is ready

That's it! Finished with Dr Feelgood and that's done with doctors for the month! Next month at this time is going to be non-stop medical appointments with the VA, my Pulmonologist, and my pain specialist.

Coffee is ready for anyone who wants a cup.

Good news. The last test I took showed my cancer number went down and my new story gets published in the morning!
Two good newses. Okay, so I'm making up a plural for news.

Dinner was Buffalo wings and a salad. It was my wife's first time make Buffalo wings. I imagine the recipe will be tweaked.

Given the local TV exposure to your Eclipse, I cannot help wonder how much TV you got for our a year or two ago.
But now I need coffee.

Morning all. OC? You're the one to blame for the coffee? ;) That's OK, I've been banned from making the coffee since everyone found out I use half the grounds I should, essentially making coffee-flavored tea. So sue me.

Concerns and best wishes for @TxRad . He has a difficult diagnosis and at the moment is enduring more than I wish upon anybody.

Maybe a 30-second shout-out on PBS, if anything. I don't recall it if there was.

The thing about Monday's eclipse was it passed through so much of the US and especially three major cities - Dallas, Indianapolis and Cleveland. IIRC the estimate was that 29 million people were in the path of totality. Most of the rest of the country saw a partial. My sister in San Diego sent a graph of her solar array power monitor, and even that far away from the path there was a noticeable dip in power output correlating with the eclipse.

It is just the weirdest thing. A few years ago we had a full eclipse in Denver and it barely made the news. It was TOTALLY Cool! (I'm not kidding, the temperature dropped 10 to 15 degrees at totality)

This time all the creatures crawled out from under their rocks gasping and touting the spiritual nature of The Eclipse and what it meant spiritually for All Mankind. And Then... (my personal favorite) there came the pundits who explained how The Eclipse was proof! Proof! I tell you that (how do I word this so it doesn't sound more stupid than it is) The Eclipse was caused by man-made global climate change and is linked to the 100 year return of the cicadas!!!!! (Yes, that's five)

It has to be true, the woman who said it is a lawyer.

Morning coffee is on. If you're getting tired of Mr. Coffee, gadget loving grandma got another new coffee maker.
