To this day I cannot say Chronicles of Narnia correctly in my head.Day 7 a song for how you would like to spend your Sunday
Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell - Lazy Sunday
I like this one, because it reminds me of a bit of Leonard Cohen's body of work, balancing the sacred and sensual. It uses the religious imagery to describe the carnal one, and it doesn't exclude the negatives ("I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies/I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife" is far from a positive look), but keeps the religious and sacrificial images. And he does it in condemnation of the current church - "Every Sunday's getting more bleak/ A fresh poison each week/"We were born sick", you heard them say it/My church offers no absolutes." Her response is come worship in the bedroom. There can be spirituality in carnality. Again, back to Cohen -- that is one of his foundations.Day 6
I really like this song despite my feelings on religion but I'm not sure if the song is anti or pro or somewhere between
