You and I have frighteningly similar tastes in a lot of things.
Cronin was in, then out, then in again. It was a weird thing. Gary Richrath is a criminally underappreciated guitarist, especially live. No pedals, no cool effects, just his hands and a guitar. Phenomenal skill.
