Vanilla is an excellent topper for baked goods and a great base for mix-ins. I always keep vanilla ice cream on hand for that reason!
I do like variety though, and if I’m going out and getting 1-2 scoops of ice cream, I’d generally go for the more exciting flavors

I actually detest *most* chocolate ice cream. It usually tastes like it’s made from sweetened cocoa powder, instead of a creamier chocolate, and I can’t stand it! Places that make chocolate ice cream taste creamy and delicious are few and far between

I also find it useful as another attachment point for cuffs when I'm feeling creative.
