Ooh story time! So Dirk Diggler’s house in the movie was a few blocks from where I grew up. I passed by it on the way to/from school every day. One of my old friends met Mark Wahlberg while he was there filming it. This was probably one of his first, if not his very first(?), serious acting roles. We were in HS then, but she only knew him as Marky Mark, from Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, and as a little brother of a New Kid on the Block…sooo of course she addressed him as Marky Mark and he had a total shit fit. You know recurring that bit he did on SNL years ago where Andy Samberg impersonated him and he took offense and was ready to fight? Not all that far off from the truth. Dude takes himself so seriously and has zero sense of humor about it. His comments on why he deserved $1.5m for a reshoot while Michelle Williams got $800 and the director refused to get paid for it were pretty gross too. Anyhoo…he’s a douchenozzle, but Boogie Nights was fun

I generally loathe him as an actor. And this tracks with everything I’ve heard about him personally. I can only watch him in movies like Boogie Nights where he’s supposed to be a whiny idiot.

So - a bit of a milestone and a bit of an over share

- 42 lbs down from my last surgery where I was overprescribed prednisone and I gained a massive amount of weight. Add all the depression and foolish shit that unkind spouses say and I was so heavy that I stopped taking photos and wearing shoes with laces. At one point I told myself I was eating to die. Pretty dark.

A few months ago I wouldn’t have dared to post a photo of my moobs. Today feel a bit emboldened to share my titties. For like a minute anyway.

I missed the photo, but I appreciate you sharing that. I struggle with my weight, and self worth because of it. It is a daily battle. Especially with the mean voices in your head.

Jelly beans are chewy sugar. Jelly Bellys have actual flavor though. Pear Jelly Bellys taste amazingly close to real pears too!
