Day 31: A song that reminds you of a happy memory
Every time I hear this song I think of someone I loved, it was an inside joke, and I think of him every single time I hear it
What song was it, not available this side of the world 🤔

Day 31: A song that reminds you of a happy memory

My mom and I would sing along to Sheryl Crow songs all the time. Happy memories when I hear a song by her. This is one of my mom's favorites of hers.

Sheryl Crow - Strong Enough

+1 if the artist is a woman

Total: 50 + 5 for perfect attendance = 55

Final tally: 52 points!

Day 31: A song that reminds you of a happy memory

This was the song that played, the night I met the woman who'd become my first girlfriend.
We're still friends, and it's still our song.
It's not a good song, but, it was everywhere back in 2001.

Some more Swedish pop-rock for whoever's interested!

And, I spoke to MLAS who said I'm alright to fill in my one missed day this month.
Thank you @morelikeasong for an amazingly fun month! And to round it all out

Day 1: Theme song from a favorite TV show

DO YOU REALLY WANNA,
DO YOU REALLY WANNA TASTE IT!?

What is this show? I need to watch it now. 🤣

Happy memory

Metallica "Ain't My Bitch"

Odd track for a happy memory? Maybe. But Summer of 2001, this track was the lead sing on the mixtape I had in the cassette deck of my Datsun. The opening bars take me back to tearing off down the hill towards the amusement park where I was the go kart mechanic. I worked 2pm -10 most days, so it was already warm. The car didn't have AC so the window was rolled down and the aftermarket moon roof (which I grew to hate) was popped open. I might have doubled the speed limit on more than one occasion down this hill with this song stressing out the cheap 6x9s I had resting in the storage compartments behind the seat because I was fresh out of high school and couldn't afford proper speaker boxes. I had to further stress them out after I cut off the muffler.

+5 for perfect attendance 57 Total

I had a lot of fun in that car with that tape blasting. I didn't even remember what else was on it.

I liked this show so so much more than I expected to. And this opening sequence is at least 20% of why.

Thank you @morelikeasong for a wonderful month.
The prompts were mostly ones that dug deep into the music I love a bunch.
And the points albeit not simple were fun to earn.
So for my final selection for this month with this prompt, I present a lil Girl Group formed in Korea called Twice.
This song has all the cheers to it. It's hard not to smile just because of the sap content.

+2 for women's group.
April total including perfect attendance= 44

I may not have topped the list this month or even made the podium, but I had fun. :)

I’ve said before that I unironically love the Spice Girls. I’m a giant movie nerd and spent nearly every Friday and Saturday night in the 90’s at the movies. One of my peak experiences was going to see Spice World at a midnight showing at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. This was before the revitalization (such as it is) of the area and it was pretty dodgy. The entire audience was me and my best friend, a busload of Asian tourists (black suits and cameras around their necks, I never could tell if they were consciously being the stereotype or not, and they left 3/4 of the way through the movie) and a group of drunken club girls who were roller skating around the theater declaring they were “gassy spice” or “clumsy spice”. It was surreal and fantastic and a loved it. And the movie amused the fuck outta me too.

Day 31: A song that reminds you of a happy memory

As kids in the mid 70s we used to hang out and sing this song, complete with hand claps and foot stomps, before the Grateful Dead started covering it, giving further life into enjoying it. Still love this song in all of its iterations.

The Dixie Cups - Iko Iko. +2 for the artists, +5 for perfect attendance. Total score 77, subject to audit.

Stressful month keeping up with the challenge, but glad for all of the great women-created music I’ve discovered or re-discovered. Thanks, MLAS!
