Bobcat Goldthwait plays an alcoholic clown in a world where clowns exist right alongside normal, non-horrifying people. Shakes gets framed for murder by a competitor and some rodeo clowns, then goes on the run. It is dark and hilarious. Julie Brown plays his long-suffering girlfriend. Clowns get drunk and beat up mimes, and at one point Shakes hides out in mime class, taught by an uncredited Robin Williams.

I heartily suggest it. Just as I suggest never going to a Clown Motel that has its own entrance to the graveyard next door...
