I ground through it. I completely get the catchphrase part, but especially in the later seasons they lean into the silliness of that. It hit for me.


Shoresy I think I loved more. Part is the hockey geek in me, but there is a deep seated romantic streak, for family, for old school hockey, and interpersonal. Shoresy is a solid character as well, rather than the running mouth in Letterkenny.

I did like Goon, FWIW.

I never finished Leterkenney either. I liked the first couple seasons, but it started to feel a bit too catchphrase driven. Rather watch Trailer Park Boys most times.

Fun fact, Leterkenney is (was?) filmed in my old hometown in Northern Ontario. Why? Fuck if I know but I imagine it’s because it fit the aesthetic they were going for.

To be fully transparent, I had watched 3 episodes and had given up on it.

Until my partner at the time got into it and was watching it. And that got me back into it. If it wasn't for her, I likely only would have watched 3 episodes.

Now, it's a comfort show for sure.

My wife was completely unsold after a few episodes, but I made her promise to watch four. Then she was hooked. Most people who tell me they didn’t like the show didn’t make it past the first couple of episodes.

So, when I moved out I had to do everything by myself. When my brother moved out our mother helped him pack up his stuff and bought him furniture.

I am not bitter about this because I didn't want help at all. Miss Independent here... but it was kinda like, dayum... ok. Lol

I love my family. Very lucky, by the way. Lol
