Sex & Shenanigans

I loved him on Letterman back in the day. And I loved Get a Life, his surreal early-90s sitcom with his dad (shades of Schitt's Creek there). It was way ahead of its time. But writers and producers who hire him seem to throw him in and say "hey, do some of that Chris Elliot shit," and that wears. Oh, and Cabin Boy was just too much Chris (at too high a volume of Chris) for me.

Schitt's Creek gave him the ability to act in a character he wasn't driving. And he is really damn good at it. The Season 2 episode at the BBQ was just brilliant and can draw tears without taking away the comedy. I think his honest skills get wasted.
I absolutely loved Get a Life back in the day. It was just so weird and funny. There's a ton of old Letterman clips on YouTube. Try not to get sucked in for hours like I did. :p

Schitt's is also amazing of course. ❤️

I think I watched part of an episode when it first came out, and it didn’t appeal to me…. 🤷‍♀️
I watched the entire thing. I fully committed.
Ok, I’ll admit, I didn’t pay complete attention once it was clear I wasn’t really into it. But I did have it playing in the background.
It had its moments but it didn’t really land for me. I love most of the cast (and I did particularly get a kick out of Catherine O’Hara). But… 🤷🏼‍♀️

It's ok. I felt that way about Lord of the Rings. The movie and books.

1977 The Hobbit by Rankin/Bass is superior. This is a very unpopular opinion.

Also, Star Trek over Star Wars. I said it.

We just finished rewatching Schitt's Creek for the 3rd time through. It just hits right for us.
To be fully transparent, I had watched 3 episodes and had given up on it.

Until my partner at the time got into it and was watching it. And that got me back into it. If it wasn't for her, I likely only would have watched 3 episodes.

Now, it's a comfort show for sure.
