I absolutely loved Get a Life back in the day. It was just so weird and funny. There's a ton of old Letterman clips on YouTube. Try not to get sucked in for hours like I did.I loved him on Letterman back in the day. And I loved Get a Life, his surreal early-90s sitcom with his dad (shades of Schitt's Creek there). It was way ahead of its time. But writers and producers who hire him seem to throw him in and say "hey, do some of that Chris Elliot shit," and that wears. Oh, and Cabin Boy was just too much Chris (at too high a volume of Chris) for me.
Schitt's Creek gave him the ability to act in a character he wasn't driving. And he is really damn good at it. The Season 2 episode at the BBQ was just brilliant and can draw tears without taking away the comedy. I think his honest skills get wasted.

Schitt's is also amazing of course.
