There was a hideous butt plug installation in France about a decade ago (I tried to google that and forgot to add the country 
).
Honestly, I was disappointed at the guy who called himself an artist. There was zero effort done for it compared to his other sex installations.

As a Litster once said, anything is a dildo if you're brave enough. (And she proved it). I suppose it goes for butt plugs too...not my thing, but hey, go for it.

Yep, it was definitely that one. But he tried to pass it off as a Christmas tree, said that it was a matter of perception and that was the whole point of art.
But see the thing is, art will either never forget about tradition or it will create a new one. That hideous thing did neither and so inspired nothing. I'm not surprised people took it down
