Best drum break ever! People look at his later, super popular career stuff, but go back and look at his drumming in Genesis back when they had Gabriel as the singer and they were still ProgRock. Collins is a phenomenally skillful drummer.

My only regret is that I didn't consider the bonus today.
Of course as I lay here dwelling on it, a few groups with female drummers comes to mind.
Then again, I have to relook at the rules again about the bonus.

Oh boy, I'll happily forgo the points today to share my most favorite drum heavy song ever!

Power Metal has always had special place in my heart; the bombastic lyrics, the fantasy, the melodic guitars, the notes high enough to crack glass, and most importantly the humour! It never ever takes itself seriously!

Edguy is a band front lined by Tobias Sammet, a lyrical genius who's gone on to create some of the most epic superbands the metal world has ever seen. I can't express my love for this man enough.

Take this verse, from the song Save Us Now. A song about an Alien Drum Bunny (A.D.B) crash landing on earth and being experimented on by humans, until he gets a hold of his secret weapon and just drum-solos his way to freedom!

He takes his magic carrot,
a bang and drums appear!
He starts to play like thunder,
mankind flee to save your hearing!

It's so fucking ludicrous! I love the imagery with all my heart.

Well, I could pick damn near any Beatles song because Ringo did exactly what was needed for each song, but j have to pick one, so I’ll go with Ticket to Ride just because it’s got such an unusual drumming pattern

Alright, I'm going for something a little different today. This prompt made me IMMEDIATELY think of this video of Chad Smith (RHCP) playing a blind drum track to The Kill by Thirty Seconds To Mars. There are other songs out there that I absolutely adore the drums in (*coughs* Dire Straits anything *cough*) but watching this for the first time took my breath away.

This is pure talent.

Alright, yeah, that was incredible. He stumbled for just a moment at the bridge around 3:40 but caught himself after just, what, 3 beats?

But, fuck, I don't like seeing Chad aging. Chili Peppers have always been kids in my head :(
