Sex & Shenanigans

I hate that feeling when you finish a good book and it’s almost gut wrenching and you just feel deflated.
I read an Anne Rice book years ago and was absolutely devastated when the romantic ending I was hoping for didn’t happen at all. I think I threw the book across the room and was in a crappy mood for days. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Needless to say, I haven’t read another of her books since. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had the same reaction to One Day by David Nicholls and then retraumatized myself watching the Netflix series like it would somehow be a different ending 😂😂😂

Even if the ending is happy I get a bit overwhelmed by a really good book ending. Need to read something empty like a comic book or something for a while afterwards. Like a reverse mental palette cleanser. If it’s a sad ending….ugghh even worse.

But also, man it’s great when art makes you feel something.

The ending was good… but the content was so .. real… I feel raw.. like a nerve has been ripped free of my body and is just hanging there.. exposed.
