Sex & Shenanigans

Oh. NHL I was a Whaler's fan (first NHL game I ever went to). That went away. Now I am a WHL Portland Winterhawks fan.
Just give me cheese. Brie, cheddar, Asiago...just call me Wallace.
Mysterious Warlock, usually half-elf.
I became an Ottawa fan because in the early 90's a whole bunch of northern cities (where hockey *should* be played) lost their teams to swamp cities and desert cities in the south. Ew. So I decided I'd support the one team they added in Canada where the sport belongs.

My kid, who wants to be Canadian, claims that Tampa Bay is actually the smallest Canadian Provence.

How necessary is it to have read the books (or at least know the background story) of Wheel of Time before watching the show? The show looks interesting (not least because I'm madly in lust with Rosamund Pike). But I don't have time to read 12,000 pages of novel these days.

It’s hard to say. I finally forced myself to read all the books over Covid and I don’t exactly…regret it…but they are very bad for very long stretches. I think the show does a pretty good job of condensing the story and taking out the most problematic misogyny, while explaining enough of what’s going on that you can go in cold. But I don’t have that perspective to say for certain.

Thanks for this … I was wondering that was well. I almost ALWAYS read the book before the show / movie… but sometimes it’s daunting.
