Sex & Shenanigans

Breaking up with that toxic relationship was a good decision on my part. So much less guilt now.

If we are ever in the same city I’m definitely buying you drinks to hear more Sunday school stories with Tig
I've got soooo many more 😂 There is nothing g more frustrati g than a smart ass teenager who's mom taught them the Bible in the original Hebrew, Greek & Aramaic, making sure to note the Rabbinic traditions & context of the time. I was a nightmare to the more straight laced teachers😁
The guilt is still there. Just a little different.

I love the Old Testament. Some of those chapters would fit right in here on Lit😂

I'm lucky, somehow guilt missed me. Again, I credit my amazing mom. I've got religious hang ups, but none that are guilt enducing. Mostly, I'm nice to people I shouldn't be, and give too many chances to people who don't deserve it.

Did she wink back and ask about your obitties?

I tried to be witty went away. Then came back to it and double posted with what I wanted gone and what is probably still lame. But any good teacher knows to through back sometimes to deflect or move on. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️
No, but I had a few who told me I should put them away. I'd grab my tits and say something like "Where? You told me it wasn't safe in the closet"

Some of the best stories are influenced by the bible.

I think it has to do with my cult-like religious experience. Lol It sticks with you. And it is generations deep.

I totally understand that. 💗

I think every religion can be cult-y, depending on how literal/orthodox the observers are. Luckily, my family is a smattering of many different religions, so I was exposed to a lot if different ways to live it. Some of those who are in the religions perceived as strict, are actually really layed back, sort of "do your best, god'll work it out in the end" attitudes. While the happy-clappy non-denominational family were the most strict & constantky fearful of losing their standing in the church & eternal salvation. Family reunions are SUPER FUN!

Is there a term for those of us who catch fire upon entering a church?

Yes, it's an old Irish phrase: Tig o'Bitties. But don't worry, just throw a Bible over your left shoulder & wear 100% cotton clothing, and the flames will barely lick you 😉

Oh those stories would be fun to hear. You should voca your favorite(s)!
And I don’t think being nice to people you shouldn’t be and giving too many chances are “hang ups”. For one thing, it’s an answer to WWJD, and it’s just plain being a good human.
