Day 9: A song that mentions death
The lead off to an album dedicated to the death of two friends. This album is definitely a good one when you are low, which I’ve been

Yeah this is a great album indeed. This era of Lou (late 80s to 2000s) is probably my favorite. From New York to The Raven is a really amazing album cycle. I saw him in 2000 on the tour for the Ecstacy album and the band was so tight. Great stuff.

I'm going for a deep cut today. If you've watched season one of Peacemaker on HBO (with that incredible 80s hard rock soundtrack) you've heard of Hanoi Rocks. When I was young and getting into music I'd read about these guys and hunted around for their music on cassette. Even the re-releases were hard to find in rural New England where I lived. This is a song I've always loved by them.

They were a little too glam metal for me back in the day, but I wish I’d been a little more open minded. A really great band. Michael Monroe is still at it! I like Demolition23 a lot.

Day 9: A song that mentions death

I almost went with an Nihilistics, “after death” with these enormously uplifting lyrics:

“After death you rot in the mud.”

But no one wants to hear ‘82 hardcore. So how bout this one?

Jim Carroll Band - People Who Died
