BREAKING: Cori Bush faces DOJ probe for alleged misuse of federal funds​

A watchdog group has demanded that the Federal Election Commission investigate the $62,000 that she paid to her now husband for security from her campaign account.

"Squad" member Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) is now being investigated by the Department of Justice for misuse of federal spending in private security. On Monday, the DOJ announced a subpoena on the floor of Congress without detailing who it was for.

A watchdog group, the nonpartisan Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), has demanded that the Federal Election Commission investigate the $62,000 that she paid to her now husband, Cortney Merritts, for security from her campaign account, according to the Daily Mail.

When asked about the security before in an interview, Bush was adamant that she needed to spend the money on security.

I saw a tweet on this that exemplifies the MAGA cultish thought process: ‘If the weaponized DOJ is going after a black woman it must be really bad.’


It’s like pointing out to a friend that someone they told you was a a vegetarian is eating a steak. A normal person would say maybe they are not a vegetarian after all. A MAGA cultist would say that it must be a really great steak.

(JNS) Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) is under fire from Jewish groups and her opponent in the upcoming Missouri Democratic primary for fundraising and associating with an antisemitic activist who once said she wants to burn “every Israeli” alive.

Neveen Ayesh, a government relations coordinator at the Missouri chapter of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), where she has worked since 2018, has helped Bush organize several fundraisers. The most recent one was July 16. She has a history of calling for the destruction of Israel and vowing to take part in it.

“I want to set Israel on fire with my own hands & watch it burn to ashes along with every Israeli in it. Call it what you want to call it idc,” Ayesh wrote in 2014.
