Shitty is subjective so I wouldn’t really be wrong, I’d just be having an opinion (stated brashly).

But really I was just drunk and being playful about the fact that emo music gets dumped on constantly. I was saying it’s ok if you don’t like it, not going to bother me.

I love seeing everyone’s different tastes and selections. That’s why I do this thread!
What’s funny, is my selections aren’t necessarily what I like. For instance, today’s pick of Miley Syrus wasn’t because I love her music or even that song, it’s because I thought that song represented music for the 2010s. I can’t be the only one…

Mine are always songs I like. Not always favorites, sometimes just the one that came to mind in the moment I was deciding to post. But I do always like them 😂

Day 26 a song from the 10’s

This song is another great driving song. It was on heavy rotation when I’d go out driving aimlessly during lockdown. Got a very 80’s vibe and I dig it.

The first time I heard this song was on the radio and my immediate reaction was, "Why is kiis playing 80s music and why don't I know this song??" That might explain why it's my favorite song of his 😁

I didn't mean it to come across as digging you out. So I hope you didn't take it that way. It probably came across harsher than I meant it.

<Wanders off to be sarcastic somewhere >

Day 26: A song from the 10s

@morelikeasong I beg your indulgence for one hyperlink, for music education's sake.

In the 2010's I had to plan two quinceañas for my daughters. It was quite the task for their white mama. So that time for me is defined by Latin music. The song that stands out would be El Amante by Nicky Jam.

However, since you perdedores either aren't familiar or refuse to become familiar with Reggaeton, I'll link the white people alternative instead: Despacito by Luis Fonsi, but not that shit Beiber version, only other person deserving of being on this track is Daddy Yankee, baby!

Music from the teens…

These guys were supposed to be the next coming of the Yardbirds or the stones. A bunch of 16-year-old kids from Ireland. Great punky approach to old-school R&B.

Got the chance to see them live just once. I was working in Cincinnati and I made up a white lie that my daughter had her spring concert at school, so I came home from a business trip.

My wife picked me up at Newark airport at 4pm, we had an awesome dinner in Little Italy, and saw the Strypes at the Bowery Ballroom.

The Strypes - Can’t Judge a Book by Looking At The Cover.

They have made musics since 2000?
Oh.., like 2008
Total rip off of “Hamilton” this should be arrested ! Oh? Sake guy you say ?
Before “Hamilton”? Oh? Ok I’ll listen
One of my all-time favorite musicals, and I came to it late. I discovered it due to a PBS documentary called Chasing Broadway Dreams. But it really rang for me. Even enjoyed the movie version. As much as Hamilton gets all the press, this one did a beautiful job of getting into the ideas of immigration and what "home" means.

Song from the 10's

A cover of a song I also love, and one that seemed to me to be done with love and respect. And it never gets love.

"More than a Feeling," Hit the Lights.
