Day 26: A song from the 10s
Like @RosewoodTulip my 10s music are a bit of a blur and mostly from the radio. Kids growing up and life took over. But I did find some new artists that I liked. Mostly Swedish artists, but this women stood out in the crowd. This was the first song I heard from her. Beth Hart - Bang Bang Bang Boom Boom Boom Boom.

So many to choose from. There was a lot of great music I listened to and discovered. And I dug the fuck out of Sturgill. He did a lot of fun, weird stuff. He started off as straight ahead classic country and then wandered into different sounds. The results were pretty great.

You can think that. You'd be wrong, but you can think that. Just cos some music isn't to your taste doesn't make it shitty. Just means it isn't what you like.
I’ve said it twice and I’ll say it thrice no bad taste just you can ignore. To expand, as I am wont to do. Aesthetic taste has no moral or ethical value . It’s only value outside oneself is deciding points of commonality between two folks, which can strengthen bonds. But it’s not the only method whereby such bonds can be formed and really shouldn’t even be a primary one.

Day 26: A song from the 10s

How would you feel if one of your all-time favourite bands, who hadn't seen their original lineup together in the studio full time since the year that you were born, suddenly united with your favourite producer to record a kick-ass new album thirty-five years later?
Would you be pretty excited? I certainly was!

Black Sabbath - Zeitgeist

A certified bop. Couldn't get it out of my head when it first came out.

Luv this song, luv this album, luv this artist... fantastic choice! Thank you!

I don't listen to a whole lot of newer artists... in case that wasn't apparent by me choosing Black Sabbath for the category of the 2010s (lol)... but one of my favourite discoveries of the past ten years was finding Tove Lo.
I luv everything she has done, and the entire journey she takes us on when you listen to all of her stuff back-to-back... and she keeps getting better, too! I think her latest album was my favourite one yet. I was actually saving up a good Tove Lo song for the 2020s theme... lol. But I'm glad that you beat me to the punch by recommending her today, because you made an excellent choice! Well done!

The critic doesn’t want your explanation 🤣
I won’t explain the art but I will point out that nothing I said was a 180. I didn’t say her taste was bad or wrong, I said “I” was disappointed because “I” thought she was “cool”, which generally means not much more than having an aesthetic taste one wishes to emulate. Some people think “cool”
has a moral value but it doesn’t. No judgment of her was made only of my understanding of her. Perfectly in-line with my prior statement.

I’m insane but usually consistent. Unless it’s funny not to be.

I love how dark and gritty and real the words are. This isn't a love song. Also, it has a great beat. Now I need to listen to her latest album. Thank you!

good attempt, but the judge is denying your appeal.

Shitty is subjective so I wouldn’t really be wrong, I’d just be having an opinion (stated brashly).

But really I was just drunk and being playful about the fact that emo music gets dumped on constantly. I was saying it’s ok if you don’t like it, not going to bother me.

I love seeing everyone’s different tastes and selections. That’s why I do this thread!
