This is going to be tough because of how strange the double-aughts were. At least for me.

I got bored with my collection and started branching deeper into heavy metal. I had just moved to Louisiana in 2004 and was working at a dealership. A customer left their CD book open and I spotted Killswitch Engage's "The End of Heartache". The pirate in me took over and I started ripping CDs to my lap top.

A couple of weeks later, I bought Cradle of Filth's "Nymphetamine" and my journey to the Dark Side was cemented.

Day 25 a Song from the aughts

I’ve said many times before this band did themselves no favors with their name choice. They’re not a scary death metal band, they’re a distortion heavy shoe gaze band and they fucking rule. One of the very few bands I have not seen live that I deeply regret. Though my eardrums are probably better for to.

I'll give the bass player points for the Epiphone Thunderbird. That's a sick bass.

There are a lot of familiar elements to that song but I feel like it was l would be an acquired taste.

They billed themselves as the loudest band in New York for a while, and I’ve no doubt it was true. They’ve evolved their sound a lot over the years and I still like them. But this first albums rawness is still my favorite.
