Can I understand how you mashed them? Are we talking boiled and milk similar to mashed potatoes then browned? I am intrigued wouldn't mind a recipe or concept tutorial if it is not too much

Shredded hash browns are loose and not packed together.
The one in the picture is packed into that shape and cooked like a patty.
