The new safe currently only has the 4 long guns that wouldn't fit in the old safe, a bull pup Semi-auto 12-ga and 5,000 rounds of 5.56.

The old safe is upstairs and the new safe is downstairs and I've been to lazy to sort and organize.

I love this, but must say, she must have an imagined hunting situation in her head. Have a coyote going for your livestock on a fast run and see how many rounds it takes to stop it. A bolt action with a five round clip is not going to get it done especially if your 16 year old daughter is doing the shooting to protect her prized lamb.

As far as shepherding goes, Navajos in the Southwest have been raising sheep for centuries without semi-auto weaponry. Believe it or not, coyotes are not a new phenomenon.

And, have you ever heard of a lambing pen? Requiring a body guard for every lamb is a lame suburban hobbyist approach.

The remote area where I live is being invaded by this suburban "ranchette" mentality. They raise property evaluations by doing endless parcel splits, take welfare subsidies from the USDA, run their hobby livestock on other people's riparian land, drive drunk through the washes on their ATVs, and then fire their weapons indiscriminately.

It's basically a trashy form of rural gentrification by city people who watched too many Hollywood fast-draw movies.

A Florida federal judge ruled Friday a law prohibiting people from having firearms in post offices is unconstitutional.

Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, appointed by former President Donald Trump, came to the ruling as she dismissed an indictment where a postal worker was charged with possessing a gun illegally in a federal facility, according to Reuters.

Emmanuel Ayala, a U.S. Postal Service truck driver, carried a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun for self-defense in a fanny pack, Reuters reported, citing Ayala’s lawyers. He had a concealed weapons permit, the outlet noted.

Prosecutors said Ayala brought the weapon onto Postal Service grounds in 2012 and fled when federal agents attempted to detain him, according to Reuters. He was charged under a law that broadly bars the possession of a firearm in a federal facility, which includes a post office.

Americans Bought Nearly 16 Million Firearms Last Year in Defiance of Biden’s Gun Control Push​

The latest statistics for firearm sales is in, and they show that Americans bought nearly 16 million firearms in 2023 — despite Biden’s gun control push.

According to the FBI’s National Criminal Background Check System, 29,854,186 background checks were logged in 2023. This beats 2022, which saw 28,904,713 background checks, Guns.com reported on Thursday.

According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Americans purchased an estimated 15.8 million firearms in 2023, with 1,775,834 million purchases in December alone.

NSSF spokesperson Mark Oliva said that 24 states currently allow gun buyers to purchase additional firearms without having to go through another background check, so the actual number of sales is likely higher
