What are we all writing right now?

I'm currently struggling with a story.

I need to kill off one of the MCs to create the tragedy on which the rest of the plot hinges. The trouble is, I've grown quite fond of her and her impending demise saddens me greatly.

I did consider other options to write her out e.g. emigration, but I'm not sure that quite cuts it, context-wise.

Heh ho... onwards and sideways.

Keep in mind the site's policy regarding overt political content - this is from the FAQs:

We DO NOT publish works of any type featuring the following content:

works that focus heavily on politics or religion, or political or religious figures. Lit readers are bombarded with political disputes on other platforms and they prefer to avoid these types of divisive issues in their erotica.

Its actually gonna be set in a fictional universe so I should stray just fine from that rule :)

Finishing up my Valentine's Day story.
Trying to finish the third story in a series I'm writing. I have the next two written. I just need to get the story to the other chapters.
Working on a fantasy novel with a pair of female protagonists, one an assassin and the other is a knight with magic powers who is trained to seek out the assassin after the assassin kills the king.

I hope it's lovemaking is technically correct but soulless!
Utterly soulless...! I'm going to have it doing some monologuing (because it's evil, right?) and reckon it would be quite fun to get chatGPT to generate the dialogue: you are a ruthless AI trying to enslave the universe, what would you tell your victims about your plan?

Or maybe chatGPT would see through my attempt to get it to disclose.

I enjoy it when it is well done. Steven Brust had some fun with in his Dragarean books. One used made up sayings from his world. My favorite was a list of things to be cleaned or repaired by his cleaners, each of which pertained to what happened in the chapter. Fun.

In Jack Chalker's River of the Dancing God's series each chapter begins with one of "The Rules" which are essentially the tropes of fantasy fiction.
The best was: "All adventuring parties will consist of at least 7 members, one of whom can't be fully trusted.

That sounds a bit like The Rough Guide to Fantasyland, which has entries like "The only food available anywhere is stew."

(That trope was quite accurate until The Lies of Locke Lamora, I think. The food in that book reads like Heston Blumenthal was a consultant.)

The series has a really clever premise.
God created the world, and the equal and opposite reaction created something else.
God finished our world, and being a perfect being, it's perfect.
The angels convinced God to let them have this other place. They were lesser beings so it's less than perfect.
So "The Rules" were created as a way to patch any holes.
Early on the people in charge were great men.
Now they are just average, and it turned into a mindless bureaucracy.

Ahh, I missed the "off this planet" bit. Agree, it shouldn't be a problem if it's not set in Washington :).
To be fair I didnt say as much in my post. Lol

But all my stories are set in a sort of fictional world. It would just be hard to convey to idea if I said “delegate of the continental republic” and ya’ll had no idea what that was! Lol

I'll check it out, thanks for the pointer!

Currently writing a two to three page story, involving a man and woman. I'm still deciding whether they be married yet. The story will include activities in the garage, house, office and truck. More specifically: office chair, couch, floor, bench seat of truck, bed of truck, shower and up against wall. I'm about a fourth of the way done.

I'm also writing some erotic poetry as well as some romantic poetry.

I'm getting some more ideas and will definitely post as I finish each one. Thanks Y'all! I look forward to reading your work!

I'm working on the first act of my romance novel! It's about a woman who falls in love with a lake monster.

Also currently working on a new short story for Literotica that's about a tentacled monster who lives under a woman's bed. 🐙 Never written anything in the "NonHuman" category before, so excited to try it out.

Trying to finish my long overdue chapter for my fantasy series, I just have to finish a court scene which have been a pain for me to finish. Perfectionist in me has been kicking hard... Thinking I might try to finish one of my other WIP's while I'm at it.

I've been trying my hand at erotic poetry, using alliterative verse. But I can't get over the feeling that it's all a bit awkward and forced.
It's something that I haven't done in years. I feel better writing short stories and scenes. A friend of mine gave me the challenge and of course I accepted lmao

That's gonna be awesome! I didn't used to read that kind of stuff until recently. Can't wait to read!

Forgot 1 draft I wanted to mention.

“I Hate V-Day.” Romance. My recurring characters Doug Ramsay and Lisa Coleman’s first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. They have hot sex and discuss with some of their friends why they dislike the holiday. Doug also shares the story of his first marriage with the restaurant supply tycoon Marie O’Day (special guest star Rebel Wilson) and why it did not last.

“Girls Dorm Gathering” will be published later tonight. My next release will probably be “Saving Sandra”. If you don’t recall the earlier post, that’s a Fanfiction story of Doug Ramsay and Sandra Bullock getting together after dealing with some Die Hard type bad guys and a dragon (there were two in the original draft, but I cut one of them) invading her Austin home.

I have three very long ones that for some reason I can't seem to get finished.

1 - Titled "Lydia," it's about a young gaunt woman who shows up late one night at a man's door claiming to be the daughter he didn't know he had, and needing to know for sure because she needs a kidney transplant and the odds of a parent being a match are much greater than a random match. The story is really about the girl's mother and father who long ago divorced after an affair she had and how their daughter is the incentive for them to get back together.

2 - "Good Day Iowa," about a widower who enjoys watching a daily public service/informercial TV show with a much younger and very attractive female co-host, and the circumstances that eventually get them together. It has lots of "feel-good" things in it so far, and I really am excited to get this one published.

3 - "The Healer" is an I/T 'fantasy' about a brother who grants his dying sister's bucket list item on her 18th birthday to experience making love, and the next day she finds her appetite is back and she starts feeling stronger. The cancer that is ravaging her is discovered to be shrinking, and she's sure it was her brother's sperm that was the healing agent. Before the story is done, he will have the opportunity to test her theory with two other women. It may require the reader to suspend reality a bit, but if they do, I think they will be rewarded.

I'm also processing an idea for the Geek Pride event, but I don't want to share any details yet because I'm a long way from getting anything written. I like the way it's starting out though, and it may move forward in the line of stories if I get started on it. I'd sure like to get one of these others done before then.

Poetry can actually be tough, especially if you intend to use a basic rhyming scheme. Something I believe ya kinda gotta have some what a knack for. Being familiar with music and old plays, also helps. A lot of Shakespears plays are basically long ass poems, so are a number of rock and rap/hip-hop.
