In Dawn of the Dead the zombies returned to the mall because that’s the thing they remembered doing in life. But if a ghost is a soul, wouldn’t the memories, thoughts, feelings, etc. have left the body? Isn’t that what your soul is? Would the presence of a ghost confirm the existence of a soul?
Or is it like your computer, no matter how much you delete, there is always a little porn fragment left here and there? So if your soul (ghost) leaves your body, does it leave a few memory cookies behind?
Could the ghost possess the zombie and become that person again?
Could they then be the first smart zombie and possibly work on a cure to zombieism AND ghostism?

There is definitely a movie here. 👍

Interesting to think about. I think in this case that the soul leaves the body but the brain, which is more or less an organic hard drive, retains some memory. So that's why zombies still have traits of their former selves.

Also I'd watch that movie. Get a screenplay going! ;)

My best friend from high-school lives in SLC, I'm there at least twice a year. It's like another planet. I think it has a very high internet porn usage, and has since the early days of the internet. However, you couldn't get porn dvds, or mags back in the day, so the internet was an open playground they'd never had before. Think of it, it's 1999, the porn is taking 20 minutes two load 3 frames...not the most economical way to use your wank time if you have a flick or mag at hand.

Also, sex toys sell well in Utah. There is no original sin in mormonism, sex is for fun/recreation not just procreation, etc. A lot less hang ups & shame in that sense. (I mean there still are, there are fucked up people everywhere, just for different reasons than purity culture😁)

The thing I don’t like about the majority of zombie movies is that (especially with George Romero) the moral is “we (humans) are the true monsters”. That was great in Night of the Living Dead, but it gets stale pretty quick.

Let’s go the secular route and consider there is no soul and our memories, personalities, etc. are just conscious energy. If we die and that energy is reduced by a lot, but still there, and then we (humans) go on stabbing all these low-energy reanimated corpses in the brains, aren‘t we actually killing our former loved ones for the second time?

Maybe we ARE the true monsters!

Maybe zombies are just the next step in evolution and we should be letting ourselves get turned?

Can zombies still get erections?

So many unanswered questions with the science behind zombies.

I like ghosts better.
