🎵 Monthly Song Challenge 🎵

It seems many are choosing to liberally define "popular". When you start your selection "for those of you may not who may not know..." that's pretty much the opposite of popular. (Apologies if this offends, it's not the intent but if someone is going to be the asshole, who better than me? 🤭)

I ruled out a song that I've been eager to use by Cracker because they aren't a household name.

I hope this question repeats every month because I think it's great to expose some obscure songs from great artists.

Love the blend of classical piano with rock and roll that this one brings

Fantastic choice!
But I'll admit that I struggle with the "popular" idea sometimes... not so much in terms of the bands, but the songs themselves... since I never listen to the radio, and have zero idea what's going on in pop culture since hitting my forties (lol). So sitting here on my isolated farm, as a reclusive weirdo, with all of my hundreds (and hundreds) of albums to keep me company, all that I really knew is... This is my favourite Elton John song! It never even occurred to me that it wasn't one of his popular numbers...
So an extremely interesting, if deceptively tricky, theme today...
Great song choice though!

Day 3: A song you love that most people haven’t heard from a popular band/artist

Did you ever wonder what would happen if Ian Gillan left Deep Purple to front the mighty Sabs? Well wonder no more...
You just know that a marriage like this would be deemed boom or bust, and the consensus seems to be 'bust'... but I completely disagree.
This whole album sizzles!

Black Sabbath - Disturbing the Priest

All Along the Watchtower- Jimmy Hendrix

Sounds like everyone's a winner with this outcome!
Both with the punishment (mmm), and with these fantastic song choices! Well played...

I love this challenge being posted in pairs. It doesn’t feel like a double post but like sharing the two versions makes the prompt even better and more informational.
