Are you purposefully stupid. Slavery in not the only reason for the civil war, I never wrote it wasn’t a factor. Slavery was always an issue between north and south but secessionist threatening to secede from the union played a big factor, actually led to the war.

You're the one who's saying it wasn't about slavery. Not me. The war was 100% about the right to keep on, keeping slaves. No matter how you try to slice thin cuts of other "reasons" off that.

The Civil War was absolutely over slavery. The Republican Party opposed it being extended to the new western states, while the southern Democrats wanted to keep treating Africans as livestock. By the 1850s the import of captive Africans had slowed to a trickle. Most southern slaves were born in slavery.
