Now thats a tricky question...

There's so many to choose from in various colors but go with the standard rope and it should suffice. I actually like this rope. When you first buy it, it is stiff and unwieldy with lots of line memory. However, if you snip off both ends and pull out the filler in the middle, then melt the ends to secure it, it becomes soft and supple, great for practicing ties. Without the filler, it also lays flat, which looks good when making multiple passes.
