Just say you were intoxicated. Far more believable and forgivableAgreed.
The case for the defense, flimsy as it is, might be that it’s a little intoxicating being able to visualize characters that you have created and are fond of.
But… no sense filling AH with it, so I agree restraint is appropriate [insert joke here].

I don’t want my record in this area taken into account. Not sure I ever lived down my drunken “I don’t get cuck, what the fuck is up with that shit?” thread.Just say you were intoxicated. Far more believable and forgivable![]()
I have this derailing queen rep. What normally [not all the time] happens is someone says something tangential and I feel compelled to reply. Politeness or ND, take your pick.Lovingly harass @onehitwanda in PM's.Or in a thread of your choosing, if you're in a derailing mood!
Because this is a social club where authors hang out, not necessarily a writing workshop where we only talk about writing. Why should there be any image threads on the Author's Hangout? There is a forum specifically for visual artists.
By the way, I checked with Enrique at the bar. We're out of vermouth again. Who was supposed to put in the fricking liquor order this weeK?Because this is a social club where authors hang out, not necessarily a writing workshop where we only talk about writing.
Three quarters of the threads would be gone if we only talked about writing here.
And on that note, I'm not always going to move a thread just because it could fit in another forum. If a thread is an editing help request, but has already received positive responses in the AH, I'm not going to move it on principle. If I believe a thread could benefit from the move, I will do so. There are a wide range of topics here which could conceivably fit in another forum, but fit just as well here.Because this is a social club where authors hang out, not necessarily a writing workshop where we only talk about writing.

As to the why of the AI image policy, I know as much as everyone else. What Laurel has provided via the new guidelines is what I know.
By the way, I checked with Enrique at the bar. We're out of vermouth again. Who was supposed to put in the fricking liquor order this weeK?
Aha, but we're not talking, are? We're writing! Everything we post here is relevant. No matter how nonsensical it seems.Because this is a social club where authors hang out, not necessarily a writing workshop where we only talk about writing.

Shit, sorry, that's my fault. I spent the budget on a dancing girl named Alyssa in Amsterdam.By the way, I checked with Enrique at the bar. We're out of vermouth again. Who was supposed to put in the fricking liquor order this weeK?
No worries, so worth it, and sweeter than vermouth, I'm sure...Shit, sorry, that's my fault. I spent the budget on a dancing girl named Alyssa in Amsterdam.
Listen, she had legs that went on for miles. I was unable to resist. No worries, so worth it, and sweeter than vermouth, I'm sure...
Alyssa is still around? She must be getting long in theShit, sorry, that's my fault. I spent the budget on a dancing girl named Alyssa in Amsterdam.
It's like the Dread Pirate Roberts, babe. The name gets passed down along with that truly horrendous tiger-stripe g-string.Alyssa is still around? She must be getting long in thetitstooth by now.
And so worth the climb, no doubt. Hope you told her hi for me this time.Listen, she had legs that went on for miles. I was unable to resist.
That explains the mask covering the top half of her face then. It's like the Dread Pirate Roberts, babe. The name gets passed down along with that truly horrendous tiger-stripe g-string.

Fair trade. Not complaining, but it is curious she went to the Netherlands for vermouth...Send Wanda to the store for a bottle of vermouth, and you won't get any vermouth. But you will get a story.
That only comes after the mapthus the slippery slope
What's miles got to do with it? I've edited it for ya!Listen, she had legs that went on for miles.I'm Wanda. I was unable to resist.

Someone will find out, but now they won't be allowed to show us. Damn!I wonder what AI would do with a prompt; she had legs that went on for miles.
Fair enough, but the thread that probably started this has 119 pages and almost 3K posts. I'd call that inclusive. That's all fine, I don't disagree. But to that end, I find threads that have nothing at all to do with the common interest that draws us here exclude more than include people and are counter productive to the social club aspect of the forum.
