Oh I know oh so well how cheap the ammo was. Too bad those days are gone for ever. It's a medium range, medium power cartridge that used to be cheap to buy in bulk as were the platforms it was in.

There is not many places here on the mountain with a clear line of shot over a couple hundred yards including down the road! Hell I can't see well enough that far anyways without a scope. There are still a lot of lever guns out there doing lever gun things and popping out .30-30WCH slugs and killing deer out in the woods. I respect that. It works, it ain't broke, and it don't need fixin'.
The 7.62x39 is an odd duck. For utility's sake, I think of it as being kinda similar to the 5.56 NATO out to maybe 200 yards. The 5.56 has some ass out past 300 yards, but by 400 yards, the 7.62 is in the dirt. So if you don't have too far to shoot, kinda like the old thirty-thirty, it'll get the job done for many of the same reasons. Wat has an AK and an SKS in the rack. Neither is used much, but neither is going anywhere, either. I do prefer the AR to the AK platform.
From my house Out West, I sincerely doubt that I have a clear line of sight for a 400 yard shot in any direction.
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/part-2-11-reasons-762x39mm-weapons-ammo-markets-never-jay-bellSo in the grand scheme of things where does the 7.62x39 round fit in? I have an AK variant (semi-auto of course) and a bolt gun for that same round. In the bolt gun it seems fairly accurate. I've never pushed it over a couple hundred feet since that was the longest area I had to shoot in.
Hey, thanks for ignoring me with yet another defensive post.Relevance to you constant homophobic posts to me. Fucking hypocrite...First to call others out on their Bull Shit, also first to ignore your own hate filled, biased, prejudiced Bull Shit towards me. It's absolutely hilarious how much space I own in your feeble little liberal brain. I can't ever post with out you and the rest of your yappy dog posse pouncing on me.
Admit it...I own you bunch of wimps. Party on...I can ignore you too because you have become boring, repetitive, and even more ridiculous with every post you make to me.

The AK is perfect for me, cheap ammo and works in the dirt. I bought A LOT of ammo at .20 per round. In Vietnam LRRPS carried AK's.
Looks like it won't be cheap much longer. The AK is perfect for me, cheap ammo and works in the dirt. I bought A LOT of ammo at .20 per round. In Vietnam LRRPS carried AK's.
Hundred yards and/or deep woods, perfect .30-30 or AK range. No wasting shots on long range shooting for me. AK47 to a hundred yards out and then as the distance closes, buckshot. THAT is why I like the deep woods. Around here a shot over fifty yds. is a treat unless you are looking down the road.
I owe a douche bag hypocrite like you exactly nothing and that's what you'll get from now on. Buh bye!Hey, thanks for ignoring me with yet another defensive post.
Even reloading components are going up in price, Buy all you can now.Looks like it won't be cheap much longer.

When you see this shit happening it's no wonder the lack of supply is driving up prices:My Inner Cynic says that at least half that shortage shit is contrived. No matter the "reason," the looting continues.
Like Obama once said, "Never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up."
Joe just hasn't sold nearly the amount of firearms, ammo, or CCPs as Obama. Keep reaching, Joe. You still have time.Like Obama once said, "Never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up."![]()
I'm no huge fan of green-tip, but that sucks. Just for supply, in general. When you see this shit happening it's no wonder the lack of supply is driving up prices:

I bet you can’t ever guess what all 4 had in common.![]()
I have no doubt there's more than one hard-core Marxist in the Biden administration who would secretly like to be able to march 70-80 million US Patriots out onto the Great Plains and put one in their collective helmets. This guy used to work for a gummint, too.
