Day 12: A song you wish you wrote
I was between this one and something by another favorite lyricist, Todd Snider.

I remember loving this song as a kid and the video had Chevy Chase being funny and all that. Once I hit middle age I gave this song another listen and it's an entirely different experience. It's about crisis that comes with getting older. Just amazing writing.

Day 12: A song you wish you wrote

As I've grown older I've really learned to embrace and appreciate the "music" part of music, in addition to the words... but for most of my younger years the lyrics were the only thing I gave a shit about... and I liked songwriters who treated the 'words' as the gods. Instead of choosing words to fit the framework and structure of a song, I like how Dylan seems to choose the words that he wants and then forces the structure to fit them. Genius.

Great choice and great album. Dylan has got so many amazing songs. Blood on the Tracks and Freewheelin immediately come to mind as favorites, but his whole catalog is filled with treasure.

Day 12 - Song u wish u wrote (this one was tough so I'm going strictly monetary - highest grossed single of all time (googled)
White Christmas - Bing Crosby (+ tis the season)

(If they are in the same post, does that count as 2?)
Ugh, BOGEY ๐Ÿคฌ. Yes it counts and you know that smartass. Iโ€™m not spanking you this time. Youโ€™re enjoying it too much.

Oddly enough Iโ€™ve listened to this song at least once the last like 4 days in a row! It keeps coming up on my shuffle and I love it so I listen again.
