Day 2: A song you’d cry to in the shower

This one again….has always affected me so much that I can’t even sing it without crying.

A complete classic! No matter how familiar it is, it's still as moving as the first time hearing it...

In college, my friends and I recreated this dance/music video.

In case you thought I was just hot… nope! Weird, too.

I think "weird" is a key ingredient in adding to true hotness... lol.

Very cool song and video! I'm a bit late to the game here, having only discovered Caroline Polachek through her last couple solo albums... so thank you for helping get me up to speed. I'll have to explore more of this band.

Day 2: A song you’d cry to in the shower
Okay, here’s my sappy song that makes me cry. And the story behind it. First: I’m not a cryer. Only when I’m missing my family that have died, do I cry.

My brother used to send this to me when he couldn’t talk anymore, and was dying, so I would know he was thinking of me. So I listen to it when I miss him and it makes me cry. And since I don’t cry where people can see me, it’s always in the shower.

Thank you for sharing this with us lovely 🫂❤️

All By Myself - Eric Carmen

A bit of a double whammy for me. The lyrics are incredibly relevant to how I've been feeling. The beautiful use of Rachmaninoff's concerto also makes me think of one of the most heartbreaking, in my opinion, of the old classic films - Brief Encounter.
I don't seem to need a shower or a song to bring the tears lately but this is guaranteed Niagara Falls.

Thank you for sharing this, MM. Really touching, and I’m sorry for the loss of your brother. Such a heartbreaking thing to experience. Sending love. 💛

Day 2: A song you’d cry to in the shower
What to say about this song? I don’t know. I don’t really recommend it to anyone. I cant imagine anyone, who isn’t angsty and depressed, liking it. And I don’t recommend anyone who IS depressed to listen to it.
This song really embodies seasonal depression to me. Cold, snowy, New England winters. I don’t live there anymore, but I definitely cried in the shower to this song when I did.

I'm not a big crier, and I avoid sad music like the plague. But thus song makes me feel melancholy & nostalgic, because it makes me think of my dad, playing it in his shop, before he made life complicated.

The Highwayman-Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings
