❌Monthly Song Challenge: Archived🎵

Usually, when someone says they like some great songwriter/ guitarist/ etc. 'in spite of' their voice, it's almost always someone that I like in large part 'because' of their voice...
Lots of people say this about my favorite band, Bright Eyes. That they love the music in spite of Conor’s voice and manner of singing
I found him in a random TikTok video and I’ve been hooked for months
I found him the same way. SUCH a talented singer
Love her!!
Me too!! She’s incredible as a singer and as a songwriter
He would sing this to me and we'd dance in the living room together when I was little ❤️
Such a sweet memory 🥰
Aww my Dad used to sing this to me as a wee girl if I was upset, I still use it as an affirmation
I love this! That’s so sweet

SO many songs...but I remember when we got cable and I was mesmerized by MTV (you know, when they actually played music videos). One of my favorites was Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants.

That's weird I was gonna post this song. But the love for them (and their own longevity) was short lived.

When I discovered the sound of electric guitar, that was me hooked!

The Ants might not have lasted much longer after this song came out, but Adam Ant is still going strong. He's also gone back to more of his punk roots with the early Ants. Doesn't do much of the commercial pop stuff he did later in the 80s.

Here he is with his current band just a few years ago. His female drummer, Jola is an amazing player and just a super sweet person. She sent my son her drum sticks from this tour On his 6th birthday since he couldn't have a birthday party due to the pandemic. (My son used to be a massive Adam Ant fan :))

Day 29 - a song from your childhood - this was tough (as were many others) but i try not to use the same song or artist in hopes others find new music they may like - 1st Chapin came to head but I thpught I had already posted that, but it was a conversation with another lit'er about him I recalled. So I'll leave that. But I also thought of Kenny Rogers - I was exposed to both by my parents, I still listen to Harry Chapin, but not Kenny Rogers. However, it was the 1st concert I was ever at with my parents and an uncle, I remember Gallagher opened, and know one knew who he was at the time, he was smashing watermelons and everybody was more like WTF than laughing. Anyway today you get 2 from me!
Harry Chapin - A better Place To Be
Kenny Rogers - The Gambler

Day 29
Living Doll - The Young Ones & Cliff Richard

God I used to adore this song as a kid. I had a poster of The Young Ones on my wall when I was 6. I was besotted with Rik Mayall. Still am I guess. No one quite like him.
The Young Ones was hilarious! I just love their show! :giggle:
