🎵 Monthly Song Challenge 🎵

Never heard this song or the artist, but this is a seriously great song!

Thanks.
She's done a lot of old blues covers and olso a great tribute to Led Zeppelin. She's also made a couple of records with Joe Bonamassa.
Not a perfect voice but I love it! :)

It rocked and had some serious attitude. To me, that trumps musicianship and ability.

Ok, storytime. Back when I lived in DC and even after I moved to the burbs, there was a Blues/Jazz/Gospel band that performed on Sunday nights at Mr. Henry's in Adams Morgan called Julia & Company. The first time I heard Julia Nixon sing, I got goosebumps. I became a regular. This is the closest thing I could find to give you an idea of her greatness. Still can't believe she never hit it big with those pipes and that range. RIP Julia

Day 28: A song by an artist whose voice you love

I luv an artist who has a voice that's a little bit off centre, as long as it conveys the proper meaning and feeling. Although in this case, the person I chose has become so iconic that maybe his voice no longer strikes us as "odd".
Usually, when someone says they like some great songwriter/ guitarist/ etc. 'in spite of' their voice, it's almost always someone that I like in large part 'because' of their voice...

Neil Young - For the Turnstiles

I’m struggling to pick between these two. And I know I’m not supposed to pick more than one. But I’m special.

Vince Gill- his voice is like glass.

Chris Stapleton- that rasp is glorious.

As in shards of glass? 🤣
