George Santos

They just voted - he survived.

If anything epitomises the failure of the Republican party, it was this. 😏

Gotta love the 'Party of Law & Order' and 'Family Values' voting to support this criminal.

Ethics Report is out. They did not suggest "expulsion "...but they also did not say it wasn't warranted. In fact, the language is pretty damning and it is turning over all evidence to the DOJ for action.

He has said he will not run for re-election. Lol...he could have resigned and walked away a year ago.

what he said nov 3rd:

Santos to run for reelection even if expelled and downplays past …

WebNov 3, 2023 · Indicted Rep. George Santos says he plans to run for his seat in 2024 even if he’s expelled from Congress

and what he's now saying after the ethics report:
Embattled Republican Rep. George Santos announced Thursday that he won't run for reelection in 2024, moments after the House Ethics Committee released a blistering report that found "substantial evidence" of wrongdoing.

The announcement from the freshman congressman from New York is a reversal of Santos' earlier insistence that he would run for reelection, even if expelled from Congress.
"I will remain steadfast in fighting for my rights and for defending my name in the face of adversity," Santos said in a lengthy statement on "X." "I am humbled yet again and reminded that I am human and I have flaws, but I will not stand by as I am stoned by those who have flaws themselves. I will continue on my mission to serve my constituents up until I am allowed. I will however NOT be seeking re-election for a second term in 2024 as my family deserves better than to be under the gun from the press all the time."

probably they had 'a quiet word' with him, saying announce you'll not run again and we won't put it in writing that you should be kicked out of Congress

"Representative Santos sought to fraudulently exploit every aspect of his House candidacy for his own personal financial profit.

He blatantly stole from his campaign.

He deceived donors into providing what they thought were contributions to his campaign but were in fact payments for his personal benefit.

He reported fictitious loans to his political committees to induce donors and party committees to make further contributions to his campaign – and then diverted more campaign money to himself as purported “repayments” of those fictitious loans.

He used his connections to high value donors and other political campaigns to obtain additional funds for himself through fraudulent or otherwise questionable business dealings.

And he sustained all of this through a constant series of lies to his constituents, donors, and staff about his background and experience."

The committee said its investigation "revealed a complex web of unlawful activity involving Representative Santos' campaign, personal, and business finances."

"Representative Santos sought to fraudulently exploit every aspect of his House candidacy for his own personal financial profit. He blatantly stole from his campaign," the report states.

The report also found "substantial" evidence that Santos violated criminal laws, "some of which" are subject to pending charges. But it also alleges evidence of additional unlawful conduct, including regarding the information on federal election filings.

i found it quite amusing that santos already stepped back on his touted "100% cooperation" by refusing to speak willingly with the committee, indicated through his lawyers that—if subpoenaed—he'd plead the fifth, leading to this comment by the committee regarding their decision not to sub him:

Investigators "believed that Representative Santos’ testimony would have low evidentiary value given his admitted practice of embellishment,” the subcommittee said in its report.

apparently santos thinks the fact the ethics committee released its report is indicative of how low the government has sunk :D

being held accountable for your lies is a bitch, right?

I'm honestly shocked the piece of shit isn't just using the ISC report to fundraise for his re-election efforts. I guess he finally realized that if everybody hates you, it's generally a "you" problem. He might not even be able to get a job at NewsMax.

According to the report he was diverting funds to pay for his OnlyFans account.

What are his Lit user alts?
