Two more oddities for you. The Reising Model 50 Submachinegun and the Reising Model 50 semi-automatic Carbine. Both fired the .45 ACP round and used either a 12 or 20 round magazine.

The Model 50 was issued to the Marine Corps early in the war when production of Thompson Submachineguns was not enough to meet the demand. The Model 60 was used mainly for defense of strategic areas in the US, like bridges and factories. The Marines used them for target practice during training. It is also reported that some made there way into the hands of Marine officers in the Pacific.

Here's a couple of oddities that history seems to have mostly forgotten. The M1941 Johnson semiautomatic rifle and the M1941 Johnson machine gun. Both were used by the US Marines during WWII until stocks of M1 Garands and BARs were available. Both also were used by allied forces during the war and several countries after WWII. Both fired the standard 30-06 round.

I saw a Johnson for sale at a show once upon a time. It was probably too much money to be realistic at the time. Which is okay.

I did see a nice Smith-Corona '03A3 at a show early this year. I didn't have the cash on me and he didn't see really to want to sell it anyway.

Yeah, TrailerHitch is a classic bull-shitter who aspires to be one of the "cool guys" among Lit's ammosexuals like Wat_Tyler, Chobham, and JoePepsico. But those "cool guys" revealed a little too much about their gun obsessions when they started airing their sovereign citizen philosophy (disarm FBI and IRS agents so gun-nuts can have their freedumbs).

So TrailerHitch had to back away from that angle when pressed. He's just a punk, compared with the resident wannabe war lords on this thread. Harpy hangs out in the wings, as do a few others. They all backed off of their wishful but thinly-veiled narrative about FBI and IRS agents committing suicide when challenged, but the same death-wish vision is there right below the surface for these guys.

Just like Rush Limbaugh taught the Deplorables, all they do when pressed is say, "Just joking! Can't ya take a joke? Just fun hobby stuff! You know, hunting deer and plinking at targets and celebrating history."

I enjoy seeing them scurry around like that. If they lose their place on Lit, they don't have too many other options left. TrailerHitch lives on Lit, hoping to someday become one of those "cool guys".

I saw Johnson Battle Rifle at the Chennault Museum in Monroe, LA. One of the employees, a 'Nam vet, was impressed I even know about it.

We had a nice long talk about his experiences and shared knowledge.

They also had a Lewis Gun on display. Only place I've ever seen one.

Yawn...lying again I see. I never made any comments about disarming the FBI or the IRS. In fact I had high praise for our local and state law enforcement. If you can prove otherwise post my comments. I did express concern with a lack of trust in federal law enforcement but did not wish them any harm in any way.

I am not lying at all. I actually complimented you for separating yourself from those comments about federal agents (post 1780 in this thread).

My point was that you are hanging with the Stormfront crowd on this thread. All that talk about semi and fully auto military weapons just being "fun stuff" is hollow in the context of insurrection. That's how ISIS trains its converts online.

From what I have read 2 were shipped to the US for trials, and as many as 4 others, and possibly a carbine version, were left in Germany.

I haven't read anything about them in this millennium, I don't think. Some of that shit has all run together in my head.

It would seem that firearms still have triggers . . . .

This post would be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetically sad.

I'm not sure I like living rent free in your head. Please evict me.

TYVM.

I thought you already spent Nov. spare cash. :D

There's a disturbance in the force. Didn't go through. I did watch an auction rifle of the same type for sale. It ended yesterday after lunch and was restarted at the same minimum bid. Ya think, maybe it didn't sell because the minimum bid is a couple of hundred bucks too high???

Some people's kids . . . .

I'm thinking that there are too many moving parts there.

Sounds like you need a Fabbri over/under. Only has a few moving parts.

I have a Mossberg over/under. It's okay. Still not well broken in.
You do know that it only being "okay" is why it's still not broken in. Yes?

A shotgun should thrill you and make you want to take it out and play with it. Kinda like what you do with a new squeeze.

I won't argue that, mostly because I can. People who argue with stumps annoy me muchly. If there were more of them around and I had some 20 gauge buckshot, the shotgun might get more broken in.

Made a substitute purchase on the sproinger. It'll be headed my way next week.
