goddam. as long as it takes. that's a godawful place to be.

me? now? in england. got some stuff going on. got a canal boat lined up from tomorrow. weather looks like it could be a pisser. *shrug* looking at trains from here to vietnam end of feb next year. hope to go through europe and turkey. fancy a trip to georgia. then it'll be the stans and mongolia/china down to hanoi and ultimately, da nang [hoi an]. needs some research. not sure about boats across the caspian at the moment.

Trains from Blighty to Vietnam? Nice! Murder on the Orient Express comes to mind, and Around the World in 80 Days… Michael Palin did a very good show on the latter in the late 80s. It’ll be a great adventure!

i love san francisco! fave city. i fluked it and went in 2010 and was there when the giants won the world series. i didn't have a clue what was happening. just got blootered with everyone else!

Definitely in my top 3 cities in US. Went there several times with work. Cycling across Golden Gate Bridge was a highlight and atmospheric after dark tour of Alcatraz. Balanced by having to go to many not so great places in same country though.
