It's easy to forget that in 1947 (within some people's lifetime) Palestine was an entire country. The population was living in cities, towns and villages with farms and industries in peace. The British rulers were devastated after WW2 and had no ability to continue their commitment in the region. The United Nations dominated by the US decided that they wanted to establish a homeland for the Jewish peoples so instead of creating it in Germany where the holocaust had been created, put it in Palestine.

The concept of the 'right of a nation to exist' was invented for Israel and has never been applied to anywhere else.

The religion-based government promptly cleared out all those pesky Muslims living in the territory, concentrating them in designated areas. Thus they became refugees in camps within their own country.

The Jewish occupiers of the land have ever since moved the border further and further outwards until now there are tiny enclaves within the area known as the 'West Bank' (of the River Jordan) and an area called the Gaza Strip. This has 2.6 million people sheltering there, people who mostly regard villages hundreds of miles away as their home. There is no agriculture to speak of there, no industry, no access to fuel, food or water but what Israel allows through military checkpoints.

The funny (?) thing is that before the start of WW2 the Jews were treated so badly by Russia that many escaped to Germany. The concentration camps were built as prisons / labor camps, it wasn't until around 1941 that extermination camps such as Treblinka and Sobibor were established. That’s not how it works at the nation-state level. That’s never been how it works at that level. There is no deed or title. Possession, “now” is 10/10ths of the law.

I am not religious and have no patience with religious fundamentalism and intolerance of any kind, but I know Muslims in the US and they are nothing like the way you describe them. They are educated and professionals and as American as anyone else. You cannot paint an entire group of people with such a broad brush. Throw in a recidivist Muslim minority and its a recipe for disaster. We're losing all social cohesion as a country, and really, it's deliberately being inflicted on us with malice aforethought. What's happening now in Israel and Palestine is simply a little taste of what's coming. The Pax Americana has been finished off by Biden and the Democrats, we are no longer economically powerful enough to remain the world's policeman, the barbarians are at the gates, or inside the gates in many cases, and unless a miracle happens, Rome will fall and a new dark age will descend.

Of course, I may be wrong. Maybe Trump will be reelected and maybe the GOP will grow some balls and rollback all the destructive policies of the Biden and Obama era, but even then I don't see them going anywhere near far enough. The GOP Rino's stabbed Trump in the back every chance they got, and while they're being slowly reduced, they're still going to try and stop any major reforms, do what Trump can. That is, if he's not cheated out of a victory a second time, and why wouldn't he be? The Democrats have reduced our elections to a farce in many states, and its a winning strategy for them. They really want to establish a left-wing dictatorship. They certainly don't actually believe in democracy or the rule of law. Unfortunately, many of the GOP live in a fantasy world where they don't recognize reality when it slaps them in the face.

Anyhow, with regard to Muslims, recognizing reality and deporting them, along with the 50,000,000 illegals, is the optimal solution. The suboptimal solution is that eventually it goes kinetic, a la Lebanon, or Israel-Hamas. That's the reality, because with West and Muslims cannot co-exist within the same society. What's going on in Israel with Hamas is a simple reflection of that reality. Until it could be a money making scheme, Arabs and Israelis/Jews got along rather well. If you know Israelis (or, secular ones), you know they learn Arabic and do want peace. They don’t care about Palestinian statehood they just want the whole issue to stop and live their lives, so every time the Palestinians reject statehood, it’s Israel’s fault.
I have had Muslim friends check on me this week more than my very left wing ‘friends’. My son’s friend and dad hugged us and the dad and I shared a tearful moment. We don’t hate Muslims or Islam. Please don’t speak for us.

A week since the Hammas attacks and Isreal's ground force still hasn't invaded Gaza?? I'm surprise that there isn't news of IDF going in especially after yesterday's 24 hour warning to evacuate northern Gaza?!?!

A situation such as this take planning, lots of planning. For example hamas may be or already set traps, mines and God knows what else.... House to house fighting is fucking brutal beyond imagination.....
