But to get here, we've spent decades doing it just like everyone else is now.Clean as compared what other. Our process for handling fossil fuels, drilling, processing refineries, emissions standards and limiting waste streams is superior.
We haven't shut down most mining operations. We've moved to mining other things....and the majority of those resources are elsewhere.Mining is very destructive and because of that we’ve shut down most mining operations in the US. Letting other countries do our dirty doesn’t make us any better. Child labor camps because we don’t do it doesn’t give us the moral high ground.
You're the one saying we are stewards.....I never mentioned anything about morality.
The majority of resources are in China and Africa. We have one cobalt, lithium mine with stricter regulatory oversight.
Yes.We can do a better job but at a much higher cost. So what’s the trade off.
You're saying we're better. The truth is we're better NOW. We've spent much more time destroying shit than anyone else on the planet. There are.literal islands of trash that we've sent into the ocean. Why is that dishonest? During the Industrial Revolution we didn’t know what we didn’t know. We supplied the world with goods, it was a boom for everyone. Putting tremendous effort into cleaning up our act is making our lives better, making everything around us better. Why is that dishonest.
We're doing better....but pointing the finger at others because they don't have the resources to do things differently is laughable.
There is no one country responsible for this mess...we all have a hand in both the cause and the cleanup.
