UAW Strike - Tentative Deal Reached - Pending Vote

And who pays for that? The government?

In this case strictly speaking it would be the government. I mean right now a very real problem we are having is that as automation moves into more and more places we essentially have two choices. Slow down progress just to create busy work for people or run with it and figure out how we are going to distribute what and how.

No you're an idiot if you don't understand how government is funded.
Well, the government is the agency that doles out the CASH they collect from taxpayers. So this ponzi scheme is another socialist utopian wealth redistribution effort. IMHO

How bout the government stay out of capitalist ventures and let the market do it's thing.

lol now you don't understand ponzi schemes either. why am I not surprised. As PT said, there's a sucker born every minute.

Strange in Canada we had two experiments with GI programs. In both experiments there was a reduction in total social costs. For those a bit obtuse, it cost the government less dollars overall, by delivering the money directly, than through social safety networks.

Sure, lets start cutting those pesky tax dollars that subsidise the oil industry first!! Aren't you the one whining all the time about the cost of gasoline?

That actually isn't how it works. The government just spends, no taxes needed and even if they weren't spending they would still tax. This isn't the middle ages.

I could live with that, ease up on regulations and drill baby drill. Our fossil fuels are the cleanest on the planet and our processes are the most environmentally safe and clean.

You don't believe that do you?

There is no such thing as "clean" when it comes to fossil fuels. Removing minerals from the ground is dirty as fuck.

Of course he does… he believes whatever the idiot box right wing propaganda tells him to believe.

Folks in PA know.
Clean water is essential, but not when you drill baby drill. More like kill baby kill.

Hahahahahahaha

Sounds like the Cheeto…. The cleanest, most bestest, American fossil fuels. We love ‘em.

Because we'll all end up slaves if we do something that stupid.
The market is a cool thing and it will self correct, it's demand supported

I didn’t write it was clean, I said it was the cleanest as compared to other sources.

Lithium and cobalt come from the ground, if EVs are manufactured as a replacement for internal combustion engines got to get those minerals from the ground. We are better steward of the environment.

Using the word clean as a comparison is dumb.

Removing minerals from the earth isn't.

At best, the US removes them more efficiently, resulting in less duration for possible damage to the environment.

It is definitely true that while initial extraction can be damaging, the longer term impact is exponentially less....especially if you move to wind or solar electricity generation.

I believe the "better stewards of the environment" could be debated. When you've done more damage over longer periods of time, saying that you're better now is dishonest.

Cheeto is right, you’re the dumbass.

We, the United States, yes. You, the idiot who just wants to exploit it all. Far from it.

We, the US, are better because we don’t just exploit everything- we actually consider the long term effects. Most likely dropping the bomb twice and the long term effects there helped with that education. It’s the “what you don’t know” which should be the caution instead of just do it and figure it out later.

Whatever floats your boat.

The Cheeto doesn’t even know if he gave a presidential commendation to fauci, doesn’t know when a subpoena comes in for documents he is to turn them over, and thinks everything belongs to him.

So glad you jump right in with the idiot and claim him as yours. Fits you.

CEO's gave themselves a 40% raise in 4 years

Workers got a 6 % raise

Inflation is 19%

So....a 20% raise does what? Reduce what inflation has done? The money is there.

Clean as compared what other. Our process for handling fossil fuels, drilling, processing refineries, emissions standards and limiting waste streams is superior.

Mining is very destructive and because of that we’ve shut down most mining operations in the US. Letting other countries do our dirty doesn’t make us any better. Child labor camps because we don’t do it doesn’t give us the moral high ground.

We have one cobalt, lithium mine with stricter regulatory oversight.

We can do a better job but at a much higher cost. So what’s the trade off.

Why is that dishonest? During the Industrial Revolution we didn’t know what we didn’t know. We supplied the world with goods, it was a boom for everyone. Putting tremendous effort into cleaning up our act is making our lives better, making everything around us better. Why is that dishonest.
