Did anyone see the doomsday interview about how we’re in a mass extinction event?

We've been in a slowly increasing mass extinction event for the past thousand or so years...

It’s just getting worse and worse. I knew I was right in not bothering to plan for retirement

They just have better escape plans....

My sense, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that with the exception of the Royal Family and a few others, most of the aristocracy just fled to their country estates and largely escaped the guillotine. It was the merchant class, who initially intigated the revolution, but then lost control of it, who ended up losing their heads? e.g. you and I are fucked, but Elon Musk will fly to his private island?

I didn't see it, but I'm not surprised. We've been killing off the pollinators at an alarming rate and the death of coral reef due to heat and pollution are killing out fish species. It's just a matter of decades before food supplies dwindling. Not to mention water shortages around the globe....

I was in the ER for a different reason some years back, and this guy came in with his thigh laid wide open from a chainsaw.
It wasn't really bleeding that much (so I think, what, no arteries?). He's laying in the exam room, and I can hear the discussion.
He wants to light up cigarette. Well, no, docs and nurse are like, yeah, sorry no. They give him a Nicotine patch...
He's like, this doesn't help. He was ready to walk back out (AMA) just because they wouldn't let him smoke. I saw the wound...he needed help.

Let's just say, I think I'm smarter than him. Maybe?

This is where natural selection kicks in, I think. LOL

Oh my god I do this. It's like my brain loses signal to my feet and I just fall over. The amount of times I've broken my wrists because my brain farted and I went down is crazy
