Well, after she goes through all of that, she does say that you are still obligated to think and act anyway, and to do that in some ethical manner. Did I get that correctly? I think the word "obligated" is accurate here.

She doesn't seem to be saying that you should just live in the street and stare at the sky until something kills you. Actually, if you don't take in an adequate amount of fluids (i.e. water) you probably won't last more than ten days. And, yes, I've seen people that are pretty close to that, like the denizens of the Fort Washington shelter who spend their days in the 168th Street station until the cops throw them out. That's not what she is getting at.

I mean, whether you have free will or not, you're still posting something here every day anyway. Or you can wait to die or kill yourself (plenty of that going on too!).

while I lean toward having a bit of empathy (kudos to @gunhilltrain for his), there are two things happening here.

First, there’s only one side of this for us to go by. As pointed out, perhaps some key pieces of information are being left out, either intentionally or not?

Also, the pattern of self loathing that bears some resemblance to liking/enjoying humiliation could be happening. The possibility exists that this routine is something you secretly like in some Freudian way? Don’t know.

Roman numeral III though: if the self loathing evolves into making self harm statements, I definitely could see sites banning a person, saying they want no part of what’s going on, whatever it may be, want no part of seeming to be encouraging the behavior, or of doing nothing to address it. In that hypothetical situation, i would ban a person like that too. Just conjecture of course. We have no frame of reference.

People with complicated personality traits pop in here all the time. I confess though, OP, you’re a new flavor that I don’t think I’ve seen before. Keep in mind though, there are far better therapy options than online forums.

Determinism was identified by the philosophers of Ancient Greece, and it is an 'argument from ignorance' fallacy.

Ultimately, morally and philosophically it makes no sodding difference - you still have to decide whether you're going to sit in a corner and dribble until the day you die or go out and do something with your life, and the fact that the decision you make is supposedly inevitable doesn't change the fact that that you still have to make it.

In short, up to the quality of @JohnSm123 's other trolling.

One of the therapy options in just writing a story. I'm beginning to think we've said it all, and it's time to start ignoring him. I mean, he's got basically the same thing going on three different forums!

Oh man, I shouldn't stay with this. But, no one claimed that you would be banned because of the thread; that's your fantasy. We only suggested ending it because you haven't come up with anything new.

Go on YouTube and watch something, anything, and talk about that on the General Board or Politics Board to clear your mind. You'll seem like an intellectual if you discuss A Night to Remember or the History Channel Documentary on, say, The Battle of Chancellorsville. (You know, people with real problems.)
