My first-grade teacher taught me about them! She was a wildlife buff and they were SO neat.My favorite unfortunately went extinct due to human activity in the 2000s. There's an effort to bring it back by splicing DNA with its closest living relative.
It's the gastric brooding frog. They lay eggs, swallow the eggs, foster the tadpoles in the stomach and then vomit up the little froglettes. It's really cool.
