But if the earth were flat, all the cats would have knocked everything off its surface.I've always had a wierd thought that Flat earth made more sense to me than evolution denial. Like, if you can ignore all of the evidence in order to keep your own perception, it makes more sense to me than picking and chosing which evidence to include in your thoughts and which not to.
I don't disagree, I live in a place where I make in a month what some will never make in 5 years but to me the only way to address that is a robust economy and a livable minimum wage. Governments are responsible to provide the platform to work and the people are responsible to go work. Many governments around the world fail their people. There are exceptions where we need to help those that cannot help themselves but there aren't many of those. I pay an awful lot of taxes to two countries, I pay SA tax and I pay the difference back in Sweden so it would be like I was working in Sweden. We have very few destitute people in Sweden and everyone has the opportunity to go study and pursue a career.I think wealth inequality has been a struggle since society began. There’s always been those with lots and those with little.
Selling stock means liquidating their position in the company, which in all probability they have sweated and toiled over to get the stock to the value it is. Why would you sell out your own company from underneath yourself?Sell the stock. Yes, bring joy to the world. Make every day of your life be filled with more joy than you could possibly imagine. It isn’t hard to make the world better when you have unlimited resources.

The above yacht cost $500 million. That’s 5,000 people he could have just given $100k to and had an incredible day with each one and it would have been his life doing that for 14 years.
99% of the world’s governments are corrupt…. whatever most of the world is doing with $$ … is clearly not working.I don't disagree, I live in a place where I make in a month what some will never make in 5 years but to me the only way to address that is a robust economy and a livable minimum wage. Billionaires should probably be taxed more so more can be spent on citizens but if they are not it is not their fault and they should not be thought of as cash cows for the less fortunate.
I find this statement absurd at best. Why can't they exist? I think communism feels that way too.multimillionaires and billionaires should not exist … simple as that.
If the world they existed in was equal in terms of everyone on the planet having access to food, shelter, healthcare, education.. sure why not.. have your billions.I find this statement absurd at best. Why can't they exist? I think communism feels that way too.
So what? If I was a billionaire, and had only 1% of my wealth in cash, one tenth of what is simply standard financial recommendation to have, I could live ridiculously comfortably, not have to work a single second, and be able to support my friends and family.Mostly they are billionaires on paper, giving away large amounts of cash would need them to convert stock and that would mean relinquishing their holdings in their companies. Most of them have liquid assets in the multi million region, so then does the same apply that multi millionaires should give freely?
Oh and access to clean water and feel SAFE!If the world they existed in was equal in terms of everyone on the planet having access to food, shelter, healthcare, education.. sure why not.. have your billions.
But that’s not the case.. and all they do with it is buy USELESS shit that pollutes our planet.
And from the beginnings of our civilization this has not been the case… so we’ve started from a bad place. Kings and Queens living in gold castles while the people of their country starved and diedSo what? If I was a billionaire, and had only 1% of my wealth in cash, one tenth of what is simply standard financial recommendation to have, I could live ridiculously comfortably, not have to work a single second, and be able to support my friends and family.
People need to support each other and share.
Period.
For a company that’s worth $1 trillion, selling $1 billion in stock will lower your position in the company by 0.1%. Which billionaire is paying you to write these posts?Selling stock means liquidating their position in the company, which in all probability they have sweated and toiled over to get the stock to the value it is. Why would you sell out your own company from underneath yourself?
I agree about the yacht though, one its a stinkpot and two its fuggly.
Jumping to communism is such a lazy argument when discussing hoarding of wealth by 0.1% of society.I find this statement absurd at best. Why can't they exist? I think communism feels that way too.
Some do, a few not all of them. And why should people who have nothing to do with other people feel responsible for them. The major pollutants of our planet is through fossil fuels be it oil, gas or coal and that is us driving cars and powering our cities. So a couple of boys shooting off rockets, as annoying as it is, isn't making as big a mess as China, India and some others. If the world they existed in was equal in terms of everyone on the planet having access to food, shelter, healthcare, education.. sure why not.. have your billions.
But that’s not the case.. and all they do with it is buy USELESS shit that pollutes our planet.
I think it would be a cold heartless person that had all that wealth and didn't help friends and family. I don't see what obligation Jeff Bizos has of helping Sipho here in Johannesburg because Sipho's government has failed him.So what? If I was a billionaire, and had only 1% of my wealth in cash, one tenth of what is simply standard financial recommendation to have, I could live ridiculously comfortably, not have to work a single second, and be able to support my friends and family.

It’s not just driving cars … it’s ALL the products we use on a regular basis… it’s the waste society of single use everything .. disposable everything.. electronics, fashion.. and most of it from industrial nations like India and China producing these products for the world. Some do, a few not all of them. And why should people who have nothing to do with other people feel responsible for them. The major pollutants of our planet is through fossil fuels be it oil, gas or coal and that is us driving cars and powering our cities. Well it sounds like it when a lot here dislike people with wealth because they have worked hard to achieve something that they believed in when more often than not no one wanted to support their idea in the beginning.Jumping to communism is such a lazy argument when discussing hoarding of wealth by 0.1% of society.
This is a pipe dream, the world will never work together human nature doesn't allow for it.We are ALL responsible for each other on this planet because we all share this planet. That’s why the rich should care about the poor … the world doesn’t function without all of us working together
My red, blotchy, sneezing face isOk all … I’m making the argument that summer is the worst season.
Who’s with me?
He doesn’t. But people around Sipho who are able to help him, who have more resources, should. And that goes for everybody.I think it would be a cold heartless person that had all that wealth and didn't help friends and family. I don't see what obligation Jeff Bizos has of helping Sipho here in Johannesburg because Sipho's government has failed him.
living with excessive wealth while the people who work for your company can’t afford to buy food because they aren’t paid enough … that’s not disliking someone for working hard. Also a lot of wealthy people are ONLY wealthy because of generational wealth and did not actually WORK for it.Well it sounds like it when a lot here dislike people with wealth because they have worked hard to achieve something that they believed in when more often than not no one wanted to support their idea in the beginning.
This is a pipe dream, the world will never work together human nature doesn't allow for it.
Fucking rights. He doesn’t. But people around Sipho who are able to help him, who have more resources, should. And that goes for everybody.
Omg right???My red, blotchy, sneezing face is
