Angel’s Envy is also very good. Smoothest I’ve ever had, which is nice every once in a whileI'll have to put that on my list
I've heard good things, never tried it though. You have some good stuff up your way. Travers City is a solid, mid-level bourbon.
I prefer Irish Whiskey to Scotch. My favorite is Red Breast. It's a little pricey (usually around $60 but silky smooth and delicious). Jameson recently came out with some varieties and their Black Barrel is very good for the price.So...is there anyone that can direct me to a good brown liquor reference?
It does not need to include rum. I have that one fairly handled but whiskey, bourbon, scotch, are there more?...I’ve got no idea and it all reminds me of bad decisions in junior high.
LMAO... I was too young to drink, legally, in college. (though I did my fair share illegally)Yes, I bartended my way through college and law school and yes, I do like a drink now and then.![]()
What did you want to know? There’s a lot thereSo...is there anyone that can direct me to a good brown liquor reference?

Makers Mark is the perfect starter bourbon, it’s reasonably priced so you aren’t wasting money if you don’t like it, it’s got a lot of wheat in it, so very mild, and mixes well for drinks but sips near well. Do it.Maybe that's what i should start with. I don't drink at home that often but today I bought lots of staples. It's a home bar summer and i’ll be learning from all of you!
Don’t trust @SixShooter14, he’s like Jon Snow, he knows nothing.Didn't @SixShooter14 just post a warning about you?
What can I say, they took me with them before I was 21, so legally couldn't try it in public. However at home, I saw what my mom was given from her NY bosses.
Not to mention one of my real life besties for fun made me drink to test the breathalyzer for my limit.
haha... I know, everything!Don’t trust @SixShooter14, he’s like Jon Snow, he knows nothing.
I want to go to there.Ive been drinking bourbon for over 10 years. Best I’ve ever had was a couple years ago. Elijah Craig single barrel, barrel proof. Because it was a single barrel I’ll never have it again.
I’m not exaggerating, it was pure caramel and vanilla without the sweetness. At 122 proof, there was a lot of heat, but oh my god the flavor!
The glass is from the distillery. Drinking single barrel tonight.Four Roses Small Batch is my daily drinker. Under $40 and full of flavor. Usually easy to find.
You’ll get there if you keep drinking bourbon. Don’t rush it, and have an idea what you’re going to drink before you get the barrel proof. Know the ratio of the grains so you have an idea of the flavor profile you’ll be getting, and find that out by drinking different bourbons as well as what each grain does in general to the bourbon.I want to go to there.

NoHey, not to throw anyone's convos off, but I was wondering if anyone wanted to PM for a chat.
I’m good, was just quoting Liz Lemon because that bourbon sounded delicious. You’ll get there if you keep drinking bourbon. The knowledge and experience will help you have a good first barrel proof experience.
At least it did for me.
You might not like it when I say I have always liked Sansa and Arya Stark...so if @SixShooter14 is John Snow, there is some family loyalty there, my friend.Don’t trust @SixShooter14, he’s like Jon Snow, he knows nothing.
He’s a Targaryen, so we can be Starks and embrace the cold. You might not like it when I say I have always liked Sansa and Arya Stark...so if @SixShooter14 is John Snow, there is some family loyalty there, my friend.

I never doubted your quality...maybe that was a mistake??My bar is fully stocked, and it’s quality you should be after, not quantity.
