Sex & Shenanigans

It’s definitely not practical for everyone. I’ve never been a huge bar person. I’ve been to them plenty of times, but given the choice I prefer moving things to a private residence. More room, more privacy, more variety, etc.
Our bars are very quiet, but then again i only go on Wednesday or Thursday nights
I like bars because of the people I meet. Strangers don't often wander into private residences.
Around here, it's surprisingly rare that i have a conversation with anyone except the bartender or the local biker group.

But i don't hate talking to other patrons. I've gotten to know a few of the locals and several bartenders.

Jack Daniels is my go-to. I lived in Memphis for 8 years and it grabbed ahold of me

But generally, I like bourbon. Makers just because it isn't too expensive. But i like the expensive stuff as well.

Rye is a touch too sweet for me, i think. And I've not had enough Scotch to form an opinion.

Tequila is good too. Don Julio or Patron!

I can't do tequila. There's a reason it sounds like "to kill ya!" 🤣

Makers is one of my two go-tos along with Woodford Reserve. Both are reasonably priced but great sippers. Might be sacrilege, but I've found Evan Williams to be much better than it should be allowed to be at its price. Won't compete with anything high priced or anything, but I think most people on a blind test would guess it was more expensive than it is.

And if you ever want a nice gateway scotch, I've loved my bottled of Balvenie Caribbean Cask. It's a 14 year scotch, and the last 2 years it's finished in rum barrels, which gives it a very unique character.

I usually don't like rye myself, but my older sister bought me one for Christmas that won me over, so I may get another bottle when I finally work my way through it.

Thanks. I agree with WR, but my Evan Williams experience is extremely foggy as i was way too young and drank way too much.

I shouldn't do tequila. I can, but shouldn't.
