Why are Conservatives so obsessed with race?

Social Security is an income redistribution program. Income is redistributed from those who work to seniors who don’t. Race has nothing to do with it.
I’m going to extend an olive branch to you. I understand that you misunderstood what I wrote. You’re welcome to join the conversation. It would be nice if you may be started with addressing the topic at hand of class or even the Republican autopsy report or Marco Rubio‘s immigration reform. How about that? OK?

I’m even open to discussing with you that social security DOES now equally distribute regardless of race. And that’s possibly a good reason Republicans want to cut it.

Hey. I’m trying.
RoryN listed threads dealing with race either started or commented on by you.
Address those please.

Look. I cut bitches. That’s what I do best. There are other people here who are much better at providing links. But here you go.

https://www.ssa.gov/policy/docs/ssb/v70n4/v70n4p49.html
Thanks for sharing the link. Highlights:

“The Social Security Act of 1935 excluded from coverage about half the workers in the American economy.”

“The exclusion of agricultural and domestic workers from the early program was due to considerations of administrative feasibility involving tax-collection procedures. The author finds no evidence of any other policy motive involving racial bias.”

Blacks were no doubt proportionately under represented in the SS program but they did not compromise half the workforce in 1935 (or today). Certain policies under FDR have been criticized as being racist, but the government has shown no hesitancy to impose the SS tax on any particular race. With the raises in the income cap over the years, higher wage earners pay more to support retirees than lower wage earners these days.

Keep cutting those bitches. LoL

What is going on here? Is this like saying that the Civil War was fought over states rights and the economic viability of the south to distribute cotton?

You know what, to further the discussion which is about race, I will concede. Now explain why Republicans are so eager to cut Social Security when we’ve established that it will hurt many Americans. Proportionately more white Americans.

As previously stated, SS is an income redistribution program. Benefits and contributions (taxes) are set by the whims of Congress. “Contributions” are raised by Congress to keep the program afloat, as are “cuts.” Because its an income distribution program based on population demographics rather than a defined benefit program, changes to contributions and/or benefits will be needed by 2033 according to program trustees. Doing nothing is not an option. Some Republicans have recently put forth proposals to keep the program sustainable but tax increases and benefit restraints are unpopular so neither party is ready to touch it. Both parties will have to in the not to distant future.

It isn't just the conservatives who are obsessed with race, but the liberals too. Why? Because they want to divide the working and middle classes and prevent any anti-establishment mass force on class lines against the billionaire capitalists. To this end, they will divide on race, gender, sexual orientation, trans issues, religion, abortion, gun ownership rights, "wokeness"/"fascism" etc. The conservatives and liberals in the establishment are basically saying "Don't look at us and don't blame us. Look over there and blame (insert group) instead". Unfortunately, so many people fall for it.

The worse thing with liberals when it comes to race is their obsession with "diversity", as if discriminating against working class whites (who Hillary Clinton called "deplorables") is something good. The capitalist system needs racism to function, to divide the working and middle classes.

Only if you define "redistribution" to include reaping what you have sown. You pay into Social Security while you're working, and you collect from it once you're retired.

You are paying for benefits to current retirees. Congress will decide what you’ve “sown” and you’re entitled to when your time comes. And they will decide when your time comes.

See post #141. Kthx.

That's a lie. She did not label working-class whites "Deplorables" - she was specifically talking about Trump supporters who displayed "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic" tendencies. Let me know if you need this explained to you via a puppet show, idiot. 😘

I'm not with either of those parties, so no relevance to me.

Sure

Better question … why are conservatives so obsessed with genitals?
Culture war distraction. They are saying "Don't look at conservatives and don't blame conservatives for your problems. Look over there and blame women, trans people etc. instead". A lot of people fall for it.

I voted Green in the last 3 presidential elections, i.e. Jill Stein in 2012 and 2016, and Howie Hawkins in 2020.

Hillary Clinton got what she deserved in 2016, i.e. a defeat. Of course, she and her Democratic colleagues didn't look inwards at themselves for what they had gotten wrong and done wrong. They instead said "Don't blame us Democrats. It's big, evil Russia you know". A pathetic way of continuing on their corporate course, including the obsession with race to divide the mass population.

You just prove that there's crazies on the Democratic side like there are on the Republican side.

So, pointing out that your claim of affiliation is meaningless online means I'm "crazy"?

Thanks for proving you have zero credibility, just as I suggested. 😉
