The SCOTUS has spoken with finality, the second amendment means what it says and is to be interpreted in terms of history and text, that includes the historical meaning of 'militia.' Under that guidance from the court the various restrictive laws are being blown away faster than cheap beach umbrellas in a hurricane.

The reaction to this in certain jurisdictions is as predictable as it is desperate. And that begs the question why is it those jurisdictions are so desperate? They say it's "for your safety" when it's obvious they don't give a shit about your safety. Many of these same jurisdictions are busily hamstringing the police where they aren't de-funding along with DA's that have set up revolving doors for the criminal element. If their goal was to insure your protection they'd be making certain that the police are well funded and effective along with no nonsense DA's. But that just isn't happening. They themselves are quite secure in that they are making sure that the various police agencies are providing them with armed protection.

So if your safety and security aren't the goal what is? Looking at the nature of the jurisdictions that are acting out of desperation I can only surmise that they have concluded that they cannot take this nation in the direction that they want to go with an armed populace roaming about. They intuitively understand that the citizens must be disarmed and rendered incapable of any meaningful resistance. As things stand today they have been thwarted in their attempts to effect that goal.
