The importance of the title

I've begun working on dystopian series based on the BNWO stuff on the internet. The supposed take over by the black race of all the other races. In doing the research of what's out there, its all silly white fantasy stuff. While, what I want to write, has a reason for the fall of the other races. I was going to have the series title as "Black New Word Order:" followed by subtitles. My husband (a black man and not a fan of the fantasy) said, "If you're going to write it, the title should be, New Black World Order. It sounds better, it's more suggestive of Blacks being in control as "new" thing and down plays the fearmongering New World Order crap."

I guess he is right. I have several stories (not in the BNWO or NBWO) not in that universe which are close to finished and I have stopped work on them and concentrated on this premise. I've had no luck finding artwork to purchase for the cover or in finding free artwork that captures what I have in mind. I think I've gotten a bit obsessive on the story. I have outlined no less than five stories and finally decided on the opening story. I have no idea if this will work. It's has a bit of Sci-Fi, after the fall of civilization vibe but it is really more of a transformation of civilization story.

I need to get at least three stories done and in the cue. So much to write, so much crap keeping me away from writing.

If any of you have ideas on the category, the title of the Series, or anything else on this, please give me your thoughts.
I like NBWO, but Jo thinks BNWO is better. Sorry for the draw. Stalemates are inevitable in 50/50 relationships and I let Jo think we have one! :)

Have you read anything at all in LW in the last decade? Stories that contain physical violence against women do not get a high rating there. On the contrary, most of the comments scold the author.
They prefer a mental punishment where the sinner wife beats on her chest and apologizes forever. If she apologized and suffered for a decade, we can even talk about reconciliation.

However, if you want to get a really high score, it's important to always portray her as extremely selfish and put all the blame on her. The husband should always be a martyr – something I've never done and never will, and damn the ratings.
So, you aren't really leaving, are you? If you were, you'd stop posting before your removal, which you aren't. I'd venture to say you never requested the removal or that too would be done already.

It's best if you just set him to ignore, his posts disappear, and the entire forum becomes a much nicer universe.

Tbh sounds like a solid plot. Id read it
It would have to include lots of forced crossdressing if I wrote it. LOL

The last story I finished on here had a drug baron forcing a young guy to dress in various outfits while he and his friends raped him. When the hero kills the drug baron at the end, I thought everyone would like it. I got a few messages complaining about killing off their favorite character!

And the story they attacked me for and branded claiming it was Cuckoldry was a woman with a checkered past having one last fling with her girlfriend before her wedding, and her fiancé was actually part of the shenanigans... so now an FFM is cuckoldry to these incels
There are some very insecure guys around. I don't think they read TV/CD stories. The only one I got comments on was my female run country story, where men are slaves. "If any bitch tried that with me she'd get a bullet in the brain" sort of stuff.

Lol so for my latest story I was just mentioning it posted today and was up around 4.8 with over a thousand views. Then all the sudden WHAM about 5 low scores all at once (I would assume 1 stars) that brought me to 4.4.

And I posted in Fetish too.. in keeping with this thread I assume my title worked to attract the hate lol 😢

Cant wait for the comments to come through….

I think that may be the key right there. My four stories are
the Hedonism House
Mama's Beach House
MILF Cruise
Getting Busy
Using the first line as a guide, I bet you can guess how they fare as far as the number of views.
Hedonism House makes me want to check it out because I love the word.

Coincidentally I just read in Silk’s guide that titles with specificity that allude to the plot attract the viewers who want to read your story type.

My story about a wife/husband who conspire to have her do the deed with her husband’s boss for career advancement posts tomorrow:

“Pimping Wife for Ambition”

so we will see how it works out!
Silk also uses insanely "porno" titles....I mean what mom doesn't know fucks her in the ass....sounds ridiculous, but it draws serious traffic.

The thing is for all the silly stroky as hell titles, Silk is great writer, her lesbian work is excellent, not quite as porno, I think she saves that for IT

The description is nice and all....but think about the target audience scrolling down a list of titles. That person is seeing titles first because titles are what are larger font and boldface.

The title has to catch the eye of the reader to make themselves further into the description. At least for some people....others will read every word on the screen.

You aren't using the title to market to people who will read the descriptions anyway. You are using the title for the person who is looking at the larger boldface words.

If your title is "The Office" it's not an eye catcher. If your title is "Fun afterhours at the office" it's more intriguing. If you make it "Samantha gets fucked at the office" it's eye catching.

But....different title styles attract a different kind of reader. The "Samantha gets fuckedx option probably appeals to the reader who wants a quick read sex scene. Do you want that reader? Is your story a good fit for that reader?

I still say don't sacrifice your title for buzz. It may take longer to accumulate views and followers than it otherwise would, and you may never achieve the upper limits of what you could if you sold out for views, but at least you'll be able to look at your list with no regrets.

What good is ignoring if you keep tapping the blue text? Ask Tad, Reject, and all the others who are supposedly "ignoring me." This is beyond pathetic.

I am the fire that brings light, but also burns at times - you can't help but watch.
And as with Zarathustra, you'll end up worshiping it.

Uhmmm... I don't recall ever saying that I put you on ignore. I haven't used the software function on anybody for eons, and recently removed all the "loves spam" ( banned ) accounts that were in the list.

As to ignoring people, I'm generally good at doing that with the software I was born with nowadays. It's much more discerning and effective. The brief failures usually resolve themselves quickly.

This may seem to conflict with what I wrote before, but I think many of your titles are quite "buzzworthy." They're not as blatantly porno as some, but they make good use of titillating words that are at least suggestive of the subject matter. "Rim Fire" for an anal story is a great example, and that story did exceptionally well in its category. "Taste if Sherry," "Recycled," and "Boned" are other examples.

A caveat I should make to the advice I gave above is that the tone of the title should more or less match the tone of the story. If the tone of the story is sweet and romantic, you don't want to entitle it "Mom Bones Jimmy." Some judgment and discretion are advised.

Don't get me wrong. I do try to create titles that attract the eye. I just don't limit myself by calling out the couplings or the sex act in the title — even in Incest where I'm fairly certain it would increase the traffic quite a bit. I want my titles to be fun, and have something to do with the storyline, which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the bump and grind or who's doing it. ( limited as the "story" may be in an RR tale )

Hey, I write in a similar vein (Snowbunny Origins), what about just "Blacked World", or "Black Future"

Titles which attract attention or sell out for views, or make you feel better about yourself for being subtle and obscure.

Ask yourself: why are you writing and even bothering to post the story?

Do you want anyone else to read it? Or maybe you'd like more people to LOVE it. But you'll never know unless you first get someone's attention.

It's a real balancing act. I try to find a something at least suggestive and eye catching. Some are harder than others. My story, Strange Flowers was the hardest for me.

I write trans/TV/CD fiction. This site took a while to get used to. Many trans/TV/CD fiction stories can involve the character when they are young, or just starting out. I have never written a story involving underage sex, and never will, but even mentioning a child trying on their mother's shoes is a no, no.

Once I stopped being a whiney bitch and followed the rules I found that some of my stories were getting a huge amount of reads. (compared to other sites I post on) I was shocked to see some of my average offerings getting so much attention. I write for fun really, short, direct stories. Some of the stories I see here are novel-length, and amazing.

The magic formula seems to be putting the words "Wife" or "Housewife" in the title. Well at least as far as my stories are concerned. My most read was part 1 of Seven years as a wife. That has just over 60k reads now.

Does the title make that much difference? I suppose the way it works is anyone who looks at the story counts as a read.
It depends, Mors Immatura is neither the most accessible, nor the most stimulating of titles. Seems to have done OK.

Maybe it’s the sub-title, even though that makes clear that no actual incest is involved.

The title I think is very important....
Something it took me a long time to understand...
I often scroll through the new stories, and unless it's a writer I admire, I usually look for something in the title that attracts my attention...
Yes, now I realise....
The title has an immense importance....

There are SOOOO many boring story titles. I accept that the advice to focus on simplicity, horniness, and popular keywords is good for getting eyeballs - but for me personally, this sounds like a recipe for stuff I would be turned off by. If the title makes me yawn (which is probably the majority of the time), I usually don't get any further.

My favorite story title is probably my most recherché - Caputpedes.

I wrote some stories and titled them based on my knowledge of the story content, trying to be subtle or supercool.

I've realized that I chose those titles because I KNEW what the story was about. The subtle title was more of a few words summarizing my opinion ... after the fact that I knew the story.

IMO, if you're choosing a title, think about TRYING to get people to at least take the next step of reading the description. Otherwise, you're writing for your own amusement. And if that's all you want, then why not just file it on your own computer and forget about anyone else reading it?
