Be prepared for a little pushback. There's a segment of the readership in almost every category that is threatened by sexually dominant women.

Heaven help you if you're thinking about posting to Loving Wives. That's where they congregate. Be prepared for extremely harsh commentary and score bombing there.

Some of them are direct, and it's obvious they just can't stand a woman in control/sexually uninhibited. Others try to pick apart everything else to mask their seething hatred, but it usually still shines through. LOL It's just something you have to deal with. Trolls are a fact of Lit life.

If the comments bother you enough, don't forget you have the unrestricted ability from your control panel to obliterate them. With good timing, you may even be able to do so before they actually appear on the story due to the comment processing delay. That being said, the more unhinged and obviously unrelated to the story a comment is, the more likely it is another reader will call out the troll in their own comment. A nutter posting a nasty comment can actually get you a bunch of positive ones in response, so don't be too quick with your delete button :)

Trolls? Seething Hatred?

Haha, Light work before breakfast!!
But seriously, thanks. Im not here to let others waste my time or be their whiny "crisis of the day". Im pretty good at ignoring negativity, BUT... Im not one to let too much BS slide either!!! Ill keep a wary eye on them!!👍😘

Absolutely, 100% yes, titles matter. They matter a lot.

When your story gets published, it is competing for eyeballs with other stories in its category, or on the general new story list. How do you get the eyeballs in the first place? The title is a big deal.

Not long after I started publishing stories here, I adopted the attitude that the story text is my art, and everything else is marketing. Most (not all) of the time, I craft my story title with the goal of grabbing the highest number of eyeballs possible. And that strategy has worked.

IMO, these are elements that make a good story title:

1) Make it descriptive of the subject matter so the prospective reader knows what they're getting. Every single mom-son incest story I've written has "Mom" or a variant in the title.

2) Use a titillating word in the title. Do a search for titles and tags in the category in which you intend to publish to find out what are appealing/titillating words. Think about your prospective readership and what they are looking for. Give it to them. My all-time most viewed Exhibitionist story has the word "bikini" in the title. It's not a high-rated story, but it continues to get over 100 views every single day almost 6 years after publication. I think people who read exhibitionist stories are drawn to that word.

3) Try to make it catchy, if you can. Give it some rhythm, alliteration, something. Make it a play on words. Use or make a twist on a popular song title.
Bloody hell Simon

303.6k reads or hits! Now that is a magic word.

Does the title make that much difference? I suppose the way it works is anyone who looks at the story counts as a read.
It makes a HUGE difference. I have a couple that appear in many of my stories, in their youth (twenties) they were very playful and liked to pretend to be secret agents as they lived in different countries. It was a playful little story that ended up with mild bondage in a Luxembourg hotel room between newlyweds, I named it Serendipitous Liaison thinking it conveyed the secret agent tone of the story and people ignore it in DROVES. It's been up a year and barely got 1,800 page views. The vote scores are quite good however

Another story I wrote as part of the On The Job challenge is about a couple in Buffalo that get snowed in at work and shenanigans ensue. I titled it Stormwatch - A Blizzard in Buffalo and every time the snow in Buffalo makes headlines (which it does every year) people are stumbling over themselves to read it. When it's not snowing it gets average readership.

Pro tip: My story that has the highest number of pageviews has the word "Bondage" in the title. If I had named Serendipitous Liaison "Bondage in the Benelux" I could probably add two zeros to the 1,800 pageviews.

Thanks to everyone for the good advice. I suppose it is like the packaging. You will ignore anything with dull packaging. I will have to consider my story titles in future. But not go OTT "Super Horney Housewife Bondage Bikini Whore Sucks Ladyboy in the Incest Forest"

I write trans/TV/CD fiction. This site took a while to get used to. Many trans/TV/CD fiction stories can involve the character when they are young, or just starting out. I have never written a story involving underage sex, and never will, but even mentioning a child trying on their mother's shoes is a no, no.

Once I stopped being a whiney bitch and followed the rules I found that some of my stories were getting a huge amount of reads. (compared to other sites I post on) I was shocked to see some of my average offerings getting so much attention. I write for fun really, short, direct stories. Some of the stories I see here are novel-length, and amazing.

The magic formula seems to be putting the words "Wife" or "Housewife" in the title. Well at least as far as my stories are concerned. My most read was part 1 of Seven years as a wife. That has just over 60k reads now.

Does the title make that much difference? I suppose the way it works is anyone who looks at the story counts as a read.
My story, Just a Friendly Drink, holds my 3rd most favored position and has my highest score, but is nowhere near the most downloaded. However, it is the most downloaded story with a Red-H. It is a story of discovery and one man's realization he's a she. I have contemplated a series of "Just a Friendly," stories with similar themes. Or perhaps with one or the other lead characters.

Coincidentally I just read in Silk’s guide that titles with specificity that allude to the plot attract the viewers who want to read your story type.

My story about a wife/husband who conspire to have her do the deed with her husband’s boss for career advancement posts tomorrow:

“Pimping Wife for Ambition”

so we will see how it works out!

I've begun working on dystopian series based on the BNWO stuff on the internet. The supposed take over by the black race of all the other races. In doing the research of what's out there, its all silly white fantasy stuff. While, what I want to write, has a reason for the fall of the other races. I was going to have the series title as "Black New Word Order:" followed by subtitles. My husband (a black man and not a fan of the fantasy) said, "If you're going to write it, the title should be, New Black World Order. It sounds better, it's more suggestive of Blacks being in control as "new" thing and down plays the fearmongering New World Order crap."

I guess he is right. I have several stories (not in the BNWO or NBWO) not in that universe which are close to finished and I have stopped work on them and concentrated on this premise. I've had no luck finding artwork to purchase for the cover or in finding free artwork that captures what I have in mind. I think I've gotten a bit obsessive on the story. I have outlined no less than five stories and finally decided on the opening story. I have no idea if this will work. It's has a bit of Sci-Fi, after the fall of civilization vibe but it is really more of a transformation of civilization story.

I need to get at least three stories done and in the cue. So much to write, so much crap keeping me away from writing.

If any of you have ideas on the category, the title of the Series, or anything else on this, please give me your thoughts.

Oh yeah, if you put that in Loving Wives you'll see exactly how many trolls are prowling around Lit

I have written a few dystopian stories where women are in control. They are very difficult to make believable. The thing is, if your story was read in African countries, it would not seem odd. As they are all run by black people.

The Black New World Order stories I have read here all seem to focus on whites being slaves and being sexually abused. I often wonder why there are so few Asian New World Order stories or Chinese New World Order stories. It just seems white people run everything as you live in a mainly white run country where the majority population is white.

I have noticed a lot of these stories come from the USA. I can understand that. There seems to be a lot of racial tension. Anyway I live in a country run by a man of Indian decent, we have had 3 women prime ministers too. None of them passed silly laws against men or white people.

If I was going to write a BNWO story . I would have a natural disaster messing up lots of the "white" countries. Then they have to come cap in hand to Africa. The only country to escape it.

Tbh sounds like a solid plot. Id read it

Its kinda sad really… just the general attitude about womens sexuality and the fact they had to come looking for something that offends them to hate on it.
And the story they attacked me for and branded claiming it was Cuckoldry was a woman with a checkered past having one last fling with her girlfriend before her wedding, and her fiancé was actually part of the shenanigans... so now an FFM is cuckoldry to these incels

Anything outside of straight husband x wife is sin to them

I'll give you the example of how I learned about the title needing to convey the story, and I believe I mention this in an incest How To I posted a few years ago.

My first mother son story was titled Weekends with Laura. Now, the tag line did mention mother and its in IT, but it never hit the numbers my ensuing titles with mom in the story did. Because who is Laura? She could be anyone, right?

My first stand alone sibling story I titled an anniversary to remember. I do believe I had something in the tag line that mentioned twins so it did call out siblings, and was in the IT category, but again never hit the stats later stories with sister in the title do.

The readers go to a page and they scroll and the title is the first to catch their eye. Even in taboo where you know its all incest, if you don't have a hint to the pairing in the title many will gloss by.

if you don't have a hint to the pairing in the title

I think that may be the key right there. My four stories are
the Hedonism House
Mama's Beach House
MILF Cruise
Getting Busy
Using the first line as a guide, I bet you can guess how they fare as far as the number of views.

Description line absolutely has an impact. I can tell a major difference in Mature when I use MILF vs. Mom in the description line. Mom boosts the activity significantly.

I had one open up to me, if he's indicative of the troll movement, then they were found lacking by their wives and suddenly found themselves alone.

Honestly, I can't think of anything that would be more soul-crushing than that. However, I can't imagine someone to who that scenario happened to, want to read something to stir up all that pain. I'd avoid it like the plague.

Two words

No mercy.

I came up in a nasty family full of abusive men who beat their wives and children.
I have never put my hands on a woman inappropriately or hit my kids beyond a reasonable slap on the hand or ass when they were young.

If I didn't turn into an abuser or misogynist growing up surrounded by them, no one else had to

The past is not a crutch of convenience and when any one says "I drank, or hit a woman or....because my father/mother did it?" Right there you are full of shit because you're saying they did it, but consciously do it anyway

Takers take until they're taken.

I've made it a life's mission to teach people how to take them.

Using the show Cobra Kai as an example, its exactly how I teach. You don't start, but you finish with extreme prejudice. Over the years my proudest moments have been when a female student of mine hurt a man trying to hurt her.
