Me too! I love learning about the migration of peoples and how DNA is starting to blow all that wide open. That's cool - I am always fascinated by the journey's people take through life - how they ultimately ended up where they are in the moments I am getting to know them. Some people (either as individuals or as families, have taken some pretty amazing journeys).
You’re so pretty!Me too! I love learning about the migration of peoples and how DNA is starting to blow all that wide open.
In the Show Us Your Face thread I posted this pic and someone asked me about my necklace. A close friend made it for me with Hawaiian beach glass. The big piece for the Big Island, our ancestral home for centuries. And Oahu where my Great Grandfather moved to find work. Wound up starting a family and my Aunt/Cousin/Cousin’s 4 kids still live in the Kaimuki home he bought.
Green is because I’m a commoner in Kanaka Maoli society. Yellow is our royalty, the Ali’i, and Red is for the equivalent of the noble class.
Awe, thanks Brenda!You’re so pretty!![]()
I've been all lazy. Until after 11pm I realise I haven't wrapped the presents that are going to my sister's family - hopefully in my mother's luggage and I will see mom tomorrow morning! How’s yours
I can’t get my wrapping done because I can’t find my fabric. All my family wrapping is done too.
I'm following @Photog1rl and @LupineOne to tropical climes for December vacay.
I'll be dropping in as I can, but am planning to nap with the sound of surf in my ears.
I LOVE that! And then reusing them, of course. We all have our own fabric and don’t bother with tags. We just unwrap what is in our pattern.
I love reusing things. It gets this old miserI LOVE that! And then reusing them, of course.
For many years most of my presents have not stayed close enough to do that... I have just reused some wrappings that I've got myself.
Me too. When I was younger I even wrapped without using tape - keeping the paper in its place with just wide satin ribbon. The paper was easier to reuse that way.I love reusing things. It gets this old miser![]()
That’s why fabric works great. Twisting and tucking and tyingMe too. When I was younger I even wrapped without using tape - keeping the paper in its place with just wide satin ribbon. The paper was easier to reuse that way.
Yes. And then you can just iron it tidy again. The idea just wasn't around 20-25 years ago, didn't even think about it.That’s why fabric works great. Twisting and tucking and tying
They came as 2-yard pieces (I think). A few are cutYes. And then you can just iron it tidy again. The idea just wasn't around 20-25 years ago, didn't even think about it.
How big are your fabrics?
Looks that way to me. I confess, I stop checking in when it is so dead, because it’s kind of depressing to me.I think it's going to be a quiet night, or morning.
I still check even though it is a little depressing when it's so slow here.Looks that way to me. I confess, I stop checking in when it is so dead, because it’s kind of depressing to me.
I'll remain viligent and watch. I can't use the word depressing or people here will tell me to take my meds!I still check even though it is a little depressing when it's so slow here.
