Lord Pmann wants to discuss Brianna38

The ones I have come into contact with who aren't actually farmers are most definitely "live off the grid", dog whistle about George Soros, and the like. Which is why I qualified my statement with "every one I have met". I'm not painting with any brush, merely commenting on the type around these here parts that definitely don't vaccinate their kids and think schools being closed for MLK day are promoting "anti-whiteness". Glad you have had the opposite experience. And am glad their canned peaches will keep them alive. It's the polio that might kill them, funny enough.
Agree. I have no patience for or sympathy for the personal consequences people suffer because of anti vaxxer bullshit

So…..this is the place to lay the flowers for the person that may, or may not, have existed and may, or may not, have died.

What a quirky set of events.

The internet, throughly fascinating.
Fascinating enough to lure you back to Lit 🤣

Idk Mo or his style or motivations, but the people I know personally who are living close to the land and seeking a higher level of self sufficiency aren't Christian, aren't nationalists, aren't racist, aren't evangelists. Are there people like you describe? Ofcourse. But you are brushing with an awfully wide brush there.
Wait I am officially a homesteader now lol? Do people not read or just not have a sense of humor. No wonder that Big Jim Bri got over on us all.

I believe cilantro is most commonly used in the flavor profiles of Central American food.
Also, interestingly, a fair number of white people have a gene that makes cilantro taste like soap.

So, no. That's not an apt comparison either.
Sometimes I replace cilantro with straight ivory soap that shows you how non-white I am. Actually I am white as a muh fucker but my soul is black as midnight.

You haven't met my neighbors.

I know I run in some unusual circles, but the people I know and do teaching with of primitive skills are all lean in and do kinda folks. Not flashy, mostly anti technology/no or little social media presence.
Concur.

Sorry Mo - I meant the other Mo who has posted on this thread, Momadness. I do not want to tag him and drag him back over here.
Didn't mean to be humorless.

But strangely enough, it’s originally from India where both the leaves and seeds are called coriander. I can’t imagine calling the leaves coriander. But I can’t imagine such a thing as cilantro seeds.

Also I used to be in the soapy taste gene camp but grew out of it at the same age as my mom did.

It tastes like soap to me. Vile stuff. Although we call it coriander. I am ok with coriander seed, it is the leaves that I cannot eat because of the taste

Ok good job. I dont want to be mixed up with some gringo weirdo, non-cilantro eating, Big Jilm co-writer muh fucker.

Just for fun I decided to see what was in here. I kinda take the approach that most people here are fake and have a bunch of accounts (you know the ones you use to post personals :)) but holy shitballs. I don't think I had ever noticed this person before.
If your talking about Briana_38 then all I can say is you never really know about someone you think you know here on Lit. And I've only been on here a fraction of the time that many others here have been participating.

Is that only a white people thing? Did not know that. I love cilantro, especially fresh in salad.

I do not know about break downs of frequency in different populations, but the places where cilantro/ coriander is frequently used (Central Am, Middle East, Asia) this gene is less prevalent.
I think of cilantro (the leaves) as being common in Central America; Coriander (the seeds) being common in Middle East, Asia (it is an important ingredient in curries I think). A poster above indicated that in other parts of the world than N. American, both the seeds and the leaves are called by the same name - that seems pretty confusing to me, as they have pretty different tastes (to me) and are used quite differently.

I am grateful it doesn't taste like soap to me. (yes I am white) I tend to like more flavor/heat than cilantro alone can give a dish.
